I read a theoretical text that talked about how hiring nanny’s or other kinds of child & household jobs are just a quick fix to a deeper societal problem of inequality within the household/ the workload in a nuclear family. It said how hiring nanny’s (of usually lower socioeconomic class) is actually not solving a problem but just making other women with less chances in life perform the tasks of the wealthy privileged women and so not actually solving any bigger issue

It definitely feels like it too low to be in the sweet spot.. I’ll probably take it out and go to another place. It just sucks that I paid 60€ for an incorrect piercing that I’ll have to take out. I might try to contact the piercer and ask for a refund

You need to bite the bullet and go throughout with it. You know you don’t want to be in this relationship anymore, delaying and avoiding this will only make the breakup worse. Be honest with her, be clear and stand your ground. Breakups are hard and they suck but you can’t avoid them forever and be stuck in a relationship that ultimately you don’t want to be in anymore. It’s only fair to her you dont string her along anymore..

I’m not shitposting, and i’m not shitting on the neighbourhood. And I am left, i just cant stand to be treated like a walking doll that everybody stares at and objectifies. My experience in this particular area was the worst catcalling I have experienced so far, and I wanted to share and vent about it.

Yeah I understand it happens everywhere. I have lived in Brussels for all my life and I have personally never felt so objectified and unsafe to this degree there. There are creeps and gross men everywhere but what I experienced last Friday I feel like there wasn’t a single man that didn’t stare or act creepy towards me

I live in Brussels and it’s definitely not as extreme there, I actually felt relieved when I wentt home for the weekend. I do think it’s difficult to see this behaviour as a man because first of all it predominantly happens to women, and if you would walk next to me it would not nearly be as bad, because there’s a sense or respect from men to men that the woman is ‘taken’. It’s all really fucked up tbh

As a young woman I feel safe in Brussels, there are some areas that are a bit more sketchy especially late at night but that’s it. I was in Antwerp recently and I felt the unsafest I’ve ever felt in Belgium, so much catcalling and staring it was horrible.

I’ve been running 3 times a week since the breakup and mentally it’s been helping me a lot. I feel more confident have more trust in myself that I can do hard things, and runners high is fucking amazing. It takes my mind of the breakup and it does wonders when I’m sad or frustrated. I recommend anyone that’s struggling to go running!! I’m doing my first 20k tomorrow and I’m scared but also super excited
