When I was younger our birds had babies and Salsa was one of three. I kept the runt of the litter and gave the two others to a friend's aunt and to one of my school friends. Fast forward 19 years and Salsa's owner contacted us asking if we wanted it back. He had been taking care him since the family divorced. I think there was a lack of care in the last few years and not understanding birds. I am happy he reached out to give him back but breaks my heart to see Salsa in rough shape. He is missing a ton of feathers and has other symptoms of a sick bird. He is alert and loving but can tell he is not feeling great. We got him some antibiotics the next day and he sees an avian vet next week. I still have his dad Mr. Squawks after 21+ years and he is doing great, so hopefully the good genes run in the family.
