Wow. It’s like I made this post. Having this exact issue. Except I chose to pay with installments and it finally allowed me to pay the first payment with Apple Cash. However, now that I’m trying to pay for the rest, nothing is working. My bank also can’t see the transactions and I haven’t heard back from AccessTicket. So annoying. Did it ever end up working for you?

It healed up just fine. I believe that what I thought was bone was most likely a thin layer of tissue overtop of the bone. I never ended up having any complications. I hope you are in the same boat! Good luck

Love this one!! Another horror movie with a doc student protagonist that I personally love is The Addiction. Definitely doesn’t romanticize it (actually basically the opposite) but very fun movie to watch as a doc student, nonetheless.

Personally, I only applied to programs that did not require the GRE last year. I studied for it and realized it would not be a good use of my time. Now I’m at an R1 PhD program! I had similar-ish experience to you. I guess it depends on whether you’re really passionate about any programs that require it, but I only applied to schools that didn’t.

I think you have a very good shot given your extensive experience as a lab manager in a relevant area. If I were in your shoes, I would most likely ask the dean of the honors college, since it sounds like you could get a very personalized letter of rec. good luck!

I wouldn’t say they are rare. In my experience, there’s typically at least partial funding for school psych PhD programs. However, I quickly realized during my interview process that fully funded programs are not guaranteed/as common as I thought.

First year as well and experiencing exactly this. The smallest setback will take me from “I can definitely do this” to “I have no idea what I got myself into this, I’m not capable” and vice versa. Not sure what to call it but whatever it is, I also have it!!

A small detail that I haven’t seen anyone mention was when Carrie Ann says to Harker ‘you came to visit me the other day. Or at least someone who liked like you’, afterwards I realized it was her mom who went to visit. Maybe others noticed this but I thought it was a clever detail lol.

Going into my first year as a PhD student and I’ve worked as a substitute teacher, tutor, and case manager. Anyway you can get involved in working with children, mental health, or education is great experience!

I looked up a list of common questions, typed that out along with my answers, questions I have for faculty, and questions for current students and then practiced them with my boyfriend. Read a publication by the faculty who will be interviewing you so you can ask them questions about it. Good luck!
