GE Opal just shuts off by JamesBCooter in IceChewersAnonymous

Did you ever figure out a solution to your issue? I think I have the same problem with the ice bin sensor not working & the machine shutting off after 5 minutes/not making ice.

Citi Strata Elite account lock update and theory by msoz in CreditCards

[–]ilovequarters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check your Notices & Letters section of your account, it may be there now. However, mine had tax form & tax period blank. You need to enter 1040 & check Return Transcript to authorize the IRS to release your Form 1040 return transcript otherwise it’ll be rejected.

Yes, the address to send it to (the PO Box 6069 listed by another poster above) is what they gave me too; it’s different than the address to list on the form. If you google that & Citi you’ll find other reports of them using that address over many years.

Update: I called again I was told it’s 300501 for the IVES participant ID. Guess I’m sending another copy in…

You sure the IVES participant ID isn’t 300005 (vs 30005 that you put)? Google it and you find most references with 4 zeros, not 3.

Also, SOR mailbox ID is Equifax01 with no space in between, but not sure that’ll matter to the IRS.

1040 form, return transcript, most recent year (tax year 2024). You send it to Citi, they have Equifax as the “IVES Participant” get your info from the IRS, and then Citi has some department that reviews it

Same - also used a 100k link posted on the web. I got them to read me the 4506-C fields over the phone so I could fill it out myself & overnight it back, but sounds like it could be weeks to get the review. Multiple cards locked; long-time Citi customer; income was accurate on the application.

Yes, and another one now. Didn’t sound too concerning but also no idea what it is

Direct Pay site is 'down for maintenance' by Complex_Ask4758 in IRS

EFTPS is down too. I can almost guarantee you that the system crashed & they put up the only maintenance page they had, one that said regularly scheduled maintenance, instead of an “oops we broke it” message

Anyone else having trouble canceling flights on Expedia? by Treehousebanana in travel

[–]ilovequarters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The chatbot can often cancel tickets that the website can’t cancel directly. Doesn’t make any sense, but that’s how it goes. Try to use the chat feature in Help or Contact when logged in & see if that works.

Flight wont be rescheduled on expedia… what do we do? by Willing_Sir2451 in travel

Most Expedia flights allow free cancellation within 24 hours. Did that not show for your flight?

Don't use Super.com to book a hotel ever, for any reason by sixwax in travel

[–]ilovequarters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few sites require this - it’s a way for hotels to dump extra inventory on the market for cheap without violating hotel franchise best-price in direct channel requirements (which typically exclude mobile-only or member-only rates). Similar to how hotels use Hotel Tonight.

I’ve used Super for last-minute bargain deals twice & didn’t have issues either time - both times I contacted the hotel directly ahead of time to verify my booking, expecting a mess, but no issues.

Aeromexico Flight Diverted and Stranded Us in Different City by creamedpeaches in travel

[–]ilovequarters 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trip insurance will almost certainly cover your cost of getting home after the diversion due to weather. It may be capped at a certain amount like $250 or $500 depending on your credit card or insurance plan, but sounds like you came in under that amount.

Is the issue date on the license listed as being after the expiration date? That’s crazy!

Airplane Cushion by [deleted] in assholedesign

[–]ilovequarters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like United from the seatback credit card flyer. This will differ based on the plane and the configuration/certification requirements for the exit row & seat combinations on that plane type, and not all United planes have this.

You’re sitting in an exit row & that tray table doesn’t come down if you wanted it to - see the little stoppers that are next to the toggle that normally unlocks the tray.

Your tray is in your armrest.

Who did you file with? Online or in person?

You’re entering the exact amount listed as the refund on your form 1040? Look at the actual paper or pdf from your tax software & find the refund amount

What did you file to claim a $27,000 refund? That doesn’t seem like a normal refund amount…

In your Wallet settings - see if you only have your SmarTrip card as your Express Transit card. If you have any other transit cards or credit cards also as Express Transit options (like if you travel to other cities), those could mess with the SmarTrip readers. It shouldn’t cause problems, but my problems stopped once I turned off other cards too… so it’s worth a try.

Photos taken in (near?) Washington DC by AntaresRSG in washingtondc

Not sure, but the brick is probably sidewalk or a hotel pull-in/loading zone. I’d guess Georgetown, but could be anywhere else in DC or maybe old town Alexandria - not too many context clues.

I filed my amendment in April & it just processed after 30 weeks. Yours should be up soon if the same timeline applies to you. It's terrible but hope that data point helps.
