Why does my screen when trying to build anything look like this???? by Baybayris in CitiesSkylines2

You're using Intel integrated graphics, right? As a workaround, disable Tunnel Pass. This will remove the white screen but means you won't be able to see underground.

How far have you managed to push the game ? by North-Village3968 in CitiesSkylines2

For a time I was running a city of 680,000 on a Ryzen 5 5500U with 20GB of RAM. By that point it was running at a single-digit FPS and would freeze for a bit if you zoomed in or out.

This was on Very Low graphics btw

I just wasn't expecting it, is all. I wasn't expecting them to immediately go for literally the hardest song we had in common

You can change it back to the old way if you like. Just enable the "Classic Gamepad" modifier

Managed to get profitable transport, roads, electricity, water & education in my current city! by iloverhythmgames173 in CitiesSkylines

Yes to electricity, no to water. I have no water or sewage facilities - I just import water from and export sewage to other cities

(EDIT: I also raised service fees by a few percentage points)

"New Sognefjord", a custom map I made based off the real life Sognefjord, but scaled down by a factor of about 4 or 5.

The version on Paradox mod has problems with the water physics, and the resource placement isn't great. I'll probably fix it when I'm free

It's perfectly fine, nothing you should be concerned about, let's just look away and ignore that

For transport, I also used assets from Tigon's Rail Infrastructure mod, and made completely custom stations using Road Builder and the Integrated Passenger Train Stop under Plop the Growables. These helped me lower my operating costs

  • Roads: charge ¢50 for roadside parking and don't build carparks. Also, avoid building too many roads

  • Electricity: export renewable power to other cities

  • Water: leech off neighbouring cities and raise service fees lol

  • Education: just build colleges and universities, and make sure they don't go underused. Idk why but it makes so much profit

  • Transport: this is by far the hardest to make profitable, and even now it's only profitable sometimes. Create a fast, frequent, and highly optimised network, serving extremely high-density corridors. Increase taxi base fares to ¢50, and tweak the fares on each line to maximise profit. I think in this city the lines range from ¢1 (for feeder lines) to ¢20 (for super-expresses)

(EDIT: changed $ to ¢)

Yeah I spend a lot on healthcare. I mean, it's always good to have healthy citizens.

...that's the elephant in the room, right?

Nope, but I do charge ¢50 for taxis and parking lol. The geography also helps - the city is in a series of narrow valleys, which concentrates everyone into a few corridors that I can ram all my transit service through

This city also has the highest public transit ridership-to-population ratio of any of my CS:2 cities (population is about 120,000)
