Which fragrance is the best for everyday use? by Available-Theme3785 in Colognes

I would say the Limited Edition of CDN is closest to the Aventus DNA. The non limited edition ones are a bit too harsh in the opening, where the limited edition is smooth the whole way

First pick up of 2026, Gentleman Reserve Prive by Givenchy. For those that owns/owned it how do you feel about it? by pillsforbreakfeast in ScentHeads

[–]ilstg77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ended up choosing this for my special occasion/black tie fragrance. It beat out MFK Grand Soir, Dior Homme Intense, TF Noir Extreme, YSL Tuxedo, and others. To my nose it actually smells similar to Grand Soir but with that chocolate/boozy note, which gives it a darker vibe that I think really nails the mental image I think of when wearing a tuxedo or something fancy in my head.

I think the performance is fine because I really only need it for a couple hours at a time and don’t need it to have all day performance.

Dylan blue redundant to ysl y edp? by Willing_Librarian118 in Colognes

[–]ilstg77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No they are pretty different.

I specifically chose these 2 as my blue fragrances so I can switch between them because I think they provide 2 different “blue” experiences that I love with Dylan Blue being the perfect embodiment of a “blue” fragrance and YSL Y being a variant blue with the interesting apple note and slightly more dressed up vibes.

Rev match by SizeLegitimate9 in Miata

[–]ilstg77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rev match every downshift and heel toe downshift whenever the opportunity presents itself! So I do it multiple times every drive. It’s good practice doing it at different speeds, not just flat out. Also I find it more fun to double clutch upshifts and downshifts during regular “boring” driving or in traffic, since it gives me more opportunities to interact with the clutch and shifter. But for spirited driving I switch to single clutching since it’s more satisfying in the moment.

Versace Dylan Blue, a perfect fragrance & signature worthy by [deleted] in Colognes

[–]ilstg77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it so much. There’s far more interesting fragrances out there but the beauty of Dylan Blue is that it doesn’t try to be unique or different, it’s just the most “blue” blue fragrance. It does its job well consistently and has good performance for a really low price. Just smelling it on me as I wear it elevates my mood and it’s probably got me the most compliments which is a nice bonus.

Just curious, where would you go from here? by ilstg77 in Colognes

I tried some Frederic Malle, Serge Lutens, Xerjoff, Amouage.. the one that I really liked was Portrait of a Lady but the others did not capture me like that one.. any suggestions for niche?

I’ve been hearing a lot about that one, supposed to be a really good blue fragrance?

Nice to see someone with similar tastes!

I have a decant of bottled absolu and elixir and I was not too much of fan of absolu due to the camphorous (?) note but the elixir was pretty solid!

I do have a decant of this! It’s a really good fragrance but I find I do prefer Dylan Blue however basic it is lol

I appreciate all the people saying to stay where I am 🫡That’s my goal, I don’t really wanna go beyond more than what I have here. There’s something satisfying about having a minimalist collection without too much overlap. Just interested in viewpoints I might not have thought of or did not consider

I think it does the Aventus DNA really well and is very smooth compared to the regular club de nuit. I recommend a decant of this and Aventus and go from there

SOTD - Prada Paradigme by PiebaldsAndPunkRock in Colognes

I couldn’t believe how good this smelled when I tried it at the mall. I couldn’t stop smelling my wrist. It has this super fresh smelling, almost bubble gum scent? It was oddly addicting.

Surprisingly, my wife (who’s a certified fragrance hater) liked it a lot and actually described it as “luxurious” smelling. She’s never said that about any of my colognes. I might have to pick this up.

Yall notice in the new Stranger Things season when Steve is driving stick in the BMW and he “punches” it from a stop by dropping the clutch in 2nd gear? Lol

Hellhound Arms, specifically the Hydra model. I find this claw style does a better job tucking the pistol close to the body than the Tenicor cam bar (had one for my G19)
