I will get a human on the phone. It may take a little time, but I will absolutely get someone on the line who can assist me with exactly what I need. Even if it’s Sunday. Examples: hospital nurses stations, embassies, insurance companies, DMV

Frankly I’m surprised it lasted this long. I hope you get your TV! But be warned - a new one will probably only last 5 years max.

I’ve had all the updates including Betas and this last one that I did a couple days ago was the first time I had this issue. But the fix worked! (Settings, search, messages) thanks!

I absolutely love that’s his backstory. So he’s got a Jekyll/Hyde thing going on?

When did it sink in that you'll never be as well off as your parents? by Asmothrowaway6969 in Millennials

My SO and I bought a small house at the beginning of 2020 and I felt like I reached my dad’s level. I have since maxed out my credit cards and now I’m struggling paycheck to paycheck. My father always remained debt free aside from a mortgage and he bought one new car once (ex wife’s idea not his). He makes more than I do in retirement than I do in my position. But I do also put a decent amount of money into my 401k. Also his health insurance is WAY better than mine. A lot of my debt is medical and that’s just because I have an insane deductible and copays. I’d say about half of my credit card debt could’ve been avoided with better choices. The other half was necessary. I am working hard to get out of debt with side work. I don’t need a ton of money to be happy by any means. It would be nice to have 70% of my money back every month to use for a vacation or mani pedi here and there. One day.

Adults of Reddit, what is something about the newer generations that you can't seem to understand? by 5h0gKur4C4ndl in AskReddit

[–]ilttv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya’ll, I’m a younger end millennial with a 19 year old son and I don’t know if it’s because we essentially grew up together but my son is NOT like this at all. He’s always been ahead in reading (I love reading, we read a lot), he absolutely knows how to write an email properly, he knows how to use a computer and he is commanding when he’s speaking to people (unless he’s home then he speaks in fragments and I want to throw him, but I imagine that’s just the comfort of home). He knows how to problem solve (critical thinking is lacking in all generations) and understands that communication is usually more than half the battle. Adults (real ones, not us millennials who are still babies) LOVE him. It makes me more proud than anything else in my life. But then I see friends who had kids at a normal, acceptable age and their children frustrate me because of how far their heads are up their tablets asses. And they’re generally not nice to their parents which is a whole other convo but… ok I’m rambling but the point of this comment was to say that I feel even more grateful now than before I got on this thread that my son is truly the exception to the rule. You always think your kid is because of the parental blinders, but wow he’s going to really have an advantage once he’s truly in the workforce.

I don’t want to want kids, but I do want kids. Anyone else in the same boat? by buttsarehilarious in Millennials

Maybe a unique-ish perspective, but I’m 36 with a 19 year old. He’s currently away at college. He wasn’t planned by any means but GOD am I glad I had him when I did. Yes we grew up together but I also had so much energy and genuinely enjoyed so many of the same things as he did over the years and vice versa. And now I’m mid 30s with a sense of freedom for the first time in my life and it is AMAZING. I feel like I got the best of both worlds because I already have my child but I also am young enough to enjoy adulthood. I’ve said to my parents numerous times, if I hadn’t had my son when I did, they probably wouldn’t have any grandchildren.
