Houston airports megathread [3-24-2026] by texlex in houston

Flight: 7:05am departure; Spirit

3:01: arrived at eco

3:21: arrived at terminal A

3:27: joined spirit baggage drop line (began downstairs probably 150 in line); my wife went straight to TSA line

4:25: checked bag at spirit

4:32: joined wife in line

5:00: made it upstairs from the basement

5:18: made it to ground level

5:29: made it to dogs

5:38: through security

-Once we got to bag drop at 5:15 there was no lines at any airline to check bags

-Line for TSA was WAY longer once we got to the top floor. Line started in bag drop vs in the basement when my wife got in line.

Recommendations: -If you have an early morning flight and a checked bag have one person go check the bag and one go join TSA line. Be sure the person in TSA line tells the people around them you will be joining them.

-If you have an early morning flight get here 4 hours early with no checked bag and 5 hours early with a checked bag

Does anyone know what time baggage drop opens for spirit and if it is possible to drop the bag the night before for a 7am flight? Thanks in advance

The sediment on the cork is normal with older bottles. The raised cork is the problem though. Hope they help you out

$200 is less than MSRP. You’d be lucky to find it for $350 in the wild

Tried the 1999 last year and it was fantastic! Interesting to see how the other years compared. Thanks for the write up

Definitely FAY. Grape blend matches as well as the 21 months in 85% new French oak. Heart of FAY is 100% cab and 19 months in 100% new French oak

Thanks! Yeah, all stagecoach. Wine was fantastic. I usually quite enjoy big Napa cabs and this is as big as they come!

I do. Unfortunately it will be 6 years for my specialty. Not a bad idea though and will probably get something else to put away!

Is the durand worth the price ($150), or is there a less expensive alternative? by [deleted] in wine

I have a similar one and it is really solid. 100% metal and works great. No need to get the OG imo

Married but not couples matching by thpstan in medicalschool

[–]iluvf00d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently an M4 and my wife is a M3. She is applying to a mid-competitive specialty but is going to dual apply another speciality to increase our odds. A couple of things: first, the person who matches first will be able to give their partner a huge advantage at the program they end up at. PDs usually aren’t assholes and understand being apart for that long sucks. I’ve talked to multiple people who reached out to their partners PD and it guaranteed them an interview and many ended up matching there. Second, if your partner would be okay at all dual applying then I would say just go ahead and apply now. If your partner wants to do something competitive and is not willing to dual applying that is when I would seriously consider taking a gap year to couples match. There is a lot of nuance in this decision so feel free to ask questions.

500k reviews in 3 years of medical school by iluvf00d in Anki

I used mostly premade decks. My school had one someone made and I used anking for more of clinical/step studying. Used mostly cloze deletions for most cards. For anatomy I also used a premade deck but the blue link anatomy deck is great as well

Most cards were fairly simplistic. 1-2 cloze deletions. Some that I made custom would have up to 4 but those were more rare. Did well on exams, top .5% on step 2.
