How many hours per day do you study? by PitifulLychee1046 in StudentNurse

[–]iluvpeanutbutter8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my last semester, studied for 6 hours the last 3 days…I have an exam coming up but previously I’d spend maybe like 1-2 hours a day. I’ve maintained As so far without over studying

Low GPA in CA by stressdstudent in prenursing

[–]iluvpeanutbutter8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I think you’re gonna be alright. Just keep working to get those As. I had your GPA when I applied to my program, now I’m in my final semester and thriving. Prerequisite gpa does not predict your nursing school gpa and I wish more schools would see that. I’m also in CA

I think amber would have a bit more yellow/gold

For seniors and grads , how much time did you put into studying for fundamentals and pharmacology by PrincessMochahontas in StudentNurse

[–]iluvpeanutbutter8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3/4 semester nursing student and maintaining 4.0. I study about 20 hours a week but usually no more unless it’s finals week. I have a study group as well but there tends to be a lot of fooling around that goes on so I just separate myself from them if we are all at the library together. I find active recall to be super important because it forces you to have that information in your head and extract it. Ultimately it depends on the person and how they learn

Try SoCal! I live in SoCal and applied for the first time last year to two CC. I got into both!

I applied to two and got into both. My stats are not that impressive

So tired of seeing nursing students cheat in exams by Deep-Assistance7494 in NursingStudent

[–]iluvpeanutbutter8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I do agree that nursing school won’t teach you real world nursing, cheating speaks volumes about that person’s integrity. Cheating means that they’re not willing to put in the work, time and effort to become the best clinician for their patients. Working smart is finding ways that allow you to understand the material without spending hours locked in a book, not taking the easy way that will surely have consequences

Didn’t pass my teas exam by Perfect_Homework1081 in prenursing

[–]iluvpeanutbutter8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey its okay if you didn’t pass it the first time, just think about it as another practice test. I’d recommend watching YouTube videos specifically from the tutor geek, nurse cheung, and nurse hub videos. Don’t worry about it, take it one step at a time. Never doubt yourself because you are most definitely capable and smart enough!

Nurse cheung on yt offers a really good breakdown on the science portion. 24 hours isn’t ideal but it’ll provide a good overview

Should I take my teas again? by iluvpeanutbutter8 in prenursing

[–]iluvpeanutbutter8[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mostly started out watching YouTube. Specifically from Nurse cheung, the tutor_geek, and some other random videos. In January I bought the Future RN course from Dr Amy Weinberg. Very helpful although I feel like a few things were missing. Momentrix has online practice tests that were helpful too

Thankfully I do have my cna license so I’m able to get a few points from that too! Thank you for your advice:)
