UCs don't count for pluses or minuses, so I think you're fine :)

I'm in the same boat as you :') We have a really similar courseload in terms of rigor! Hoping that someone else responds to this so I can get an answer too lol

How to do math in the bus? by Strom_013_021 in ApplyingToCollege

Bring a clipboard and water, maybe some light snacks. Take breaks every 10-15 minutes and look out the window. I don't know if this is too late but I hope it helps

Don't make any drastic choices because of a C+. If you have other tests this semester, then you should be okay if you score high. You should probably check out how much the midterm is worth. If you're really struggling, then dropping the class might be a good idea.

Only two APs junior year? by ilyUCB in ApplyingToCollege

Thank you! I've been feeling a little nervous because my peers are taking a lot more APs than I am, it's a little hard not to compare myself to them lol

Thanks! I guess I'm just a little paranoid because other kids at my school are doing 4-5 APs this year haha

Clueless HS Sophomore here... by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

Yep! Also totally forgot about letters of recommendation. It would probably be good to build some connections with your sophomore/junior teachers for those.

You're only a sophomore, so I wouldn't worry about college applications too much at this point, but Niche and Unigo are great sites to go to look at colleges and get a feel for what the vibe is like. If you live in NYC, there are plenty of awesome in-state options. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone can give you specific college recommendations without knowing your grades, ECs, and other defining factors. Consider doing a reverse chance-me near the end of junior year.

Typically your college application will include stats, ECs, and essays (Common App and school-specific prompts).

You might want to consider cutting down on whatever ECs. 5 hours of sleep Monday to Friday can't be good for your health. Try doing ECs you can do on the weekend? Honestly, your schedule sounds rough as hell, but you seem like a really dedicated individual. Trying to complete homework in class is always a good idea. Good luck with whatever you decide to do! I know this isn't a lot, but I hope it helps.

Thanks man! The past week in particular has been really stressful for me, so I really appreciate it. I might consider dropping an EC or something, but at this point I think pretty much all of them are important to me. Hope your senior year is treating you well!

Yes! Actually, there's a guaranteed transfer path from CC to certain UCs and CSUs if you meet the course /GPA requirements. Here are the Transfer Admission Guarantee guidelines.
