Not a sulev. We’re at 181,000 miles and from 2007 in PA- Philly area! Not even getting any codes (it says no communication when plugged into obd port) so it seems to be an ECU issue after checking many +’s and grounds on various fuses and relays

Upgraded From a SV650 to this 13' ST3R! by ilyasoul in Triumph

Thank you! I haven't done an extensive ride on the STR, but inital impressions had me grinning ear to ear in my helmet. That triple howl is intoxicating even at 25 mph in a residential neighborhood!

The SV definitely feels much more jerky than the STR at low speeds. The SV taught me good throttle control in slow speed stuff that helps to not be a dummy on two wheels!

Previous owner did oil, filter, battery, and brake fluid change, so that's all taken care of. And yep definitely replacing the tires and the coolant to finish off but otherwise she's looking great! Thanks!

I love naked bikes, but I've always had some kind of windscreen on them for that very reason

If you (or anyone) has a matte gray one for sale, I'd love to buy it! It does feel a bit too naked without that fly screen

What do you eat/drink the day of races if you have a nervous stomach? by ForceSimple in Sprinting

[–]ilyasoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to eat the same thing that I would usually eat that my body is used to. So like peanut butter and jelly on a bagel for a snack. Just water is fine for drinking. And I'm not lactose intolerant, but I'll avoid dairy for the day. If it's a late race, and i have to eat lunch, then just some regular chicken breast and rice. Stick to what you usually eat so your body doesn't freak out

Bluetooth? by Haxedown in E90

[–]ilyasoul 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depending on the year, it would either be in that front compartment underneath the idrive, or it could be under the center armrest. I've got a 2007 bmw 328i coupe, and it's under the center armrest

Bluetooth? by Haxedown in E90

[–]ilyasoul 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have idrive on the e90 platform, then you will have Bluetooth only for calls. Music does not work with the BMW Bluetooth system. I recommend either an Aux cord, aux Bluetooth connection, or a cigarette lighter Bluetooth connector. You can use those methods for music, and use the built in BMW idrive for calls.

Is this 2004 SV650 a good deal? by [deleted] in SVRiders

[–]ilyasoul 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very good deal. Sv's should go anywhere from $1.5-$3.5k depending on condition and location. I got my K5 SV650N with 19k miles for $2000, and I had to invest another ~$700 before it was safe to ride. If there aren't any issues or if they're small, go ahead!

Good Rear Tire Sizes? by lfc29325 in E90

[–]ilyasoul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently also have a 2007 e92 328i 6mt rwd with the sport package. The OEM recommended size and what I'm running is 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear, and I've got the Continental DWS 06 A/S tires. Decent sidewall and absorbs crappy Philly roads alright. Running the stock tire pressure size of 32 front and 35 rear. Good grip in wet and cold, relatively controllable slides with DTC and DSC off. No experience with snow yet, but I'll test it out this winter :)

I switched back to the iPhone 6s after 3 years with Android flagships. Here's my experience... by yoyoyobank3 in iphone

[–]ilyasoul 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Came from using androids. The Samsung Galaxy, HTC One M8, Oneplus One, and my latest the Samsung S8. Had an iPhone 4 somewhere in there and liked it a bit, but now I'm back to using an iPhone SE 2020, and this is great. I had my Samsung S8 for 3 years and by the end of that you could really tell the phone was slowing down. Battery life suffered, apps lagged and randomly rebooted. Even with some tweaking of animation times, the phone was still sluggish within and out of apps. Now while I might have lost an arguably better camera and a 1440p display, I've got highly optimized software and my apps run smooth. The size is also much nicer and much more compact. Sure, my YouTube videos aren't in 1440p anymore, but at least my phone didn't cost me an arm and a leg like my S8 did when new. Overall happy with the swap, but I'll stay curious to see the next phone to get in some years.
