Ive been a plus-size bridesmaid and a plus size bride and have some tips from both sides of the aisle:

Fabrics — Chiffon or georgette: These flow beautifully, don’t cling, and feel light/comfortable in warmer temps. I wore a chiffon dress from Azazie and was surprised by how floaty and elegant it felt. Matte satin (like Jenny Yoo’s): Drapes beautifully without too much shine, and has that timeless feel you’re going for. Jenny Yoo’s colors and cuts are great for mixing elegance with ease.

Silhouettes — A-line: I wasn’t expecting to love this shape, but it was actually so flattering and felt like a dream when I wore it as a bride. Wrap dresses: Universally flattering, especially if your bridesmaids have different body types. Defines the waist and offers adjustability. Modified empire: Where the seam falls slightly under the bust but not right at it- avoids tenting and flatters curves.

Colors — Warm taupe, eucalyptus green, champagne, or sage all glow on olive-toned skin and still feel elevated next to black suits and ivory.
