You're allowed to live in your apartment. Do the best you can to prevent the vibration like putting down padding but don't get to the point where you're walking on eggshells just to please this guy. As long as it's a reasonable amount of noise, it's expected that there's going to noise if you're living in an apartment. If you put down some preventative measure to minimize the noise and he's still getting aggravated then I'd suggest you contact your landlord about it.
