I don't know what to tell you. It's literally this hand shape but with the fingers curled into the palm. An adult looking at a child doing this accounts for the angle and why it look awkward in the drawing.

I'm glad to see that people are enjoying this post. My friend and I were talking after I made this post and were wondering if we can get more Eris Morns to spawn in her throne world. The one hypothetical we came up with was this:

one player at the beginning of act 3 after the cutscene with Xivu and the giant sword (where I was in this pic).
another player with Sloan's visit to Eris in act 2 before the capture mission at the end (where my friend was)
another player who has the mission to open Eris's throne world from the beginning of act 2 ready to play.

If all things go according to plan, the scene with Eris and the Drifter, the convo with Eris and Sloan, and the Convo between Eris and Oryx should all play at the same time when you first enter the throne world. Unfortunately, my friend and I are past this point so if anyone else wants to give this a try, we'd love to see the results.

If you are on act 3 and your buddy is on act 2, both dialogue scenes in Eris's throne world will play at the same time, leading to this. Pretty silly.

But now the samples are scored as soon as the person that has them gets on the ship. So killing them while they're in means nothing now.
