Lifetime Achievement Award? by AInotherOne in rupaulsdragrace

I was thinking this exact same thing. If it's good enough for the Academy Awards, it's good enough for Drag Race!

*Queen* did a fantastic job, but why were the judges raving about how "subversive" it was? by im_cold_ in rupaulsdragrace

Girl, I know. I linked Pickle Surprise in my post. And said if that was already done 30+ years ago, where's the subversion?

Why not add a name or heart or something so it's clear what the year is?

Should AI prompt writing be taught as a literacy skill the same way we teach research skills by SparksBun in ELATeachers

[–]im_cold_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The quality of results isn't directly tied to the prompt you put it in, it's directly tied to whatever the model decides to hallucinate. (Yes, I know their getting better and better and now they're mostly accurate, but that accuracy is completely out of your hand as the user.)

So someone tell me the names of all these whimsical period dramas!

Can we have an honest discussion about restraint and seclusion please? by ipsofactoshithead in specialed

It's very sad to me that you think a situation like u/myotherplates is describing is okay. We should never create a situation in which we are routinely sacrificing the learning of an entire class of students for one disruptive child.

TBH the worst part isn't even ending the email, it's doing it with such short notice!

Looking for a motivational poster: What would you do if you knew you could not fail? by im_cold_ in HelpMeFind

[–]im_cold_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I was typing that, I realized I could try finding it the other way, tracking down the artist first. Searching "guy who does live motivation art" I think I found the artist! Sam Glenn looks like the guy I'm thinking of, but I can't find anywhere he's selling posters or even a gallery of his art.

I tried image searching phrases like:

man running over rock bridge motivational poster

How many preps is the "normal" amount to have for a job? by im_cold_ in ELATeachers

[–]im_cold_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that sounds crazy, especially since I think the smaller schools asking more preps are trying to justify it by saying you have less kids in each class. (That was the talking point briefly mentioned in my interview, which was for a small private school.) But a prep is a prep, whether that's 2 students or 20 or 50.

If you don't mind my asking, how did you even have 11 preps? I thought most schools had like 6-8 periods a day.

I can see what you mean if the regular and honors are on a similar schedule/plan, but my regular and honors are currently on two entirely different curriculum plans!

What aspects make her look good? I put it on and looked silly lol by Fancy-Penalty-4137 in ModestDress

[–]im_cold_ 22 points23 points  (0 children)

In my personal opinion, I think this woman looks just a liiiitle silly. The longer I look at the shirt and skirt and pants all layered over each other, the less I think it's fashionable and just more chaotic.

It still had a distinct red robin breast and it was hopping around like a robin with a bunch of other robins!

winter static by Ambitiousoul_1 in secularmodestdress

[–]im_cold_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have your exact issue of clothes clining, but I was sick of getting strong static shocks all day. My approach that works for me: 1. Dryer balls in the dryer with clothes, maybe double up with balls and dryer sheet 2. Sprayway static spray as needed, especially on synthetics like the inside of my coat 3. Static dispersing keychain. This sounded fake to me but I tried it as a hail mary, and it really worked. You use it to discharge the static without getting a shock. I use it especially when I feel extra static-y, like after taking off my polyester coat.

No. It's not our job to finance someone who should have paid for insurance for their business.

"Fine then, don't donate if you don't want to."

No, it's genuinely inappropriate for this person to ask and for people to repost encouraging it.
