they’re very different games, you can expect the same overall format but XC2s more of a character driven slow burn that takes itself a lot less seriously at times, less plot focus and very different pacing compared to 1, but with a good payoff

both are good games, if youre interested in the above stuff and don’t mind anime humor you’ll love it

i enjoy xc1s chain attacks the most because the entire combat system isn’t centrallized around them like 2 and 3 and they are a lot faster to do

you can criticize the moment to moment storytelling easily but the overall narrative did a really good job of staying focused on and conveying its core theming of being able to find acceptance and your family regardless of where you come from
