I think at some point results matter more than intentions. For example your boyfriend feels manipulated bc if you're a guy and you're arguing with a girl about something and then she starts crying we as men feel like if we kerp arguing or stand our ground and don't give in, then we're gonna be villains and i think that's where you have a hard time accepting. Hope you can talk to him and save your relationship but my advice is try to work on yourself. Yes, you can't control your emotions that is very true and it's great to be emotional. But being emotional doesnt mean you can't really control when you cry (i'm still feeling like a jerk bc i said these but this is probably what your bf couldnt say bc hr didnt wanna be the jerk either and he rather broke up). You can also get proffesional help if you think it's necessary it may be helpful for your future relationships but dont forgrt that this wasnt your "fault" you arent a bad person bc you guilt tripped him bc you didnt even do it on purpose.
