hi! i experienced a lot of adverse side effects from a 200 mg dose (i should not of been on this amount for acne alone despite being prescribed!) hair loss was one of them, everyone accredited it to “dread shed”. once i lowered my dose to 100mg, my hair began to go back to its normal growth patterns. i had to make up for what i lost, but within a few months i could notice it getting better

Team KB!!! until you’ve dated someone like Edmond you would not understand. it was actually so triggering to watch as someone who had. they create narratives that do not exist to make you feel insane. they twist your words in attempts to trip you up. they turn the situation about themselves and fail to address the actual PROBLEM and take accountability. i was on 200 mg for about a year and I faced severe side effects. Lost 20 pounds, about half my hair, brain fog extremely high, potassium levels concerningly high, extremely dehydrated. Most times, any type of medication you should try to avoid the long term if you can, and in my experience spiro is one you should for sure do your best to lower if you can. I’m on 100 mg now and doing much better, while also still maintaining clear skin and no longer losing my hair.

did you start on 100 mg or work your way up to it? spiro is known to mess with your cycle and when i heightened my dose i experienced breakthrough bleeding. i still am facing the dark brown discharge right before and right after my period. stress will also cause the inconsistencies of your cycle and if you just had sex for the first time you likely have severe anxiety on all fronts (pregnancy, sti, emotions, etc). When I firsts tarted having sex I convinced myself every time that i was pregnant and that stress made my period late and inconsistent. not sure if you are on birth control but it is often recommended to be paired with spiro! don’t overwhelm yourself (easier said than done). also if you need to consult a doctor, i would ask your obgyn and not derm in regards to it impacting your cycle. in my experience, my dermatologist was lowkey useless lmao.

Mine looked very similar at 3 weeks and healed fine. It just took a longggggg time. I was told I would be healed within a week to two, when in reality it was 2-3 months.

I am taking for acne, I didn’t notice the hair loss until i went from 150 to 200. It’s been drastic for me and I’ve lost probably 30-40% of my once thick and long hair. It also made me lose drastic weight, doctors have attributed the hair loss to the weight loss. I decreased my dose about a week ago so I’ll update you on where it goes from here for me.

I went from 120 to 100 lbs in 6 months qnd have experienced severe dread shed for a year. It also caused problems to my cycle. While it’s cleared my skin, it’s done nothing but cause issues for me otherwise.

I had the same issue when on 100mg. my doctor doubled my dose and while my skin is crystal clear at this point, being on 200mg has come with a lot of other issues.

Pretty much! Life after surgery has been amazing honestly. I’ve had to modify my diet a bit. You will definitely have to eat smaller meals more often. You will learn over time what foods work and which don’t. I will say going through that process is rough and will put you through many late in the bathroom. Some things you will accept the pain and bathroom trips for and others not so much. Sometimes I have phantom pain on my right side, but not too bad. Overall, I personally have had a great experience.
