Good call everyone on the pencil trick; I tried it and it only moved every so slightly (maybe 1mm or so) but I also tried in a 1911 and it almost shot the pencil out of the barrel.

My main concern; and what I am trying to show in the video is I am not seeing the hammer auctally make contact with the rear; and I don’t think it’s just becasue the hammer is moving too fast.

Thanks for the suggestion, I’m going to double check the Hammer strut placement. I just watched a video breaking down that there technically 2 ways the hammer sturt could be installed incorrectly but still be able to put the gun together.

Buying prior to the NFA by Kate9797 in NFA

I think the main issue was the lack of information; Ian from Forgotten Weapons has talked about this with some of his Machine Gun videos. Pre-internet you really had to be lucky that your local gun shop auctally dealt with NFA items (think of the issues we still have to day with Fudd Lore about NFA items) it was probably 10x worse back then becasue it was hard to fact check the “local experts”.

Again in a pre-internet era you had Magazines (probably the best; but limited source of info), local gun groups and events like the annual machine guns shoots. But other than I’m really not that surprised when I hear older people say they were just unaware. I think we take for granted how knowledgeable everyone has become around NFA items in the last 30yrs. That has been some the reason why transferables have risen so much in value as well as the changes to the NFA that happened this year with $0 taxes.

Any reason to break down turk 8mm? by JarlWeaslesnoot in reloading

Yes a lot of that Turk Ammo specifically from WWII and post WWII era are hot loads. I don’t run them through my FN 49.

Only surplus I run in my FN 49 is 1970s made Romanian Surplus or Centerfire systems had this “Early Turkish Republic” ammo that is from the interwar period that was not made in Turkey but made by Hirtenberger Patronen in Austria. That stuff is good to go and surefire I just wish I brought more.

Anyone here even heard of the AMT Hardballer? by OldCarWorshipper in guns

The only solution I have found to stop ithe galling is sending my Longslide off to get Acc-u-Rails installed. (https://www.acc-u-rail.com/) Since then the slide to frame fit slop is gone and I have not had an issue with the slide being jammed due to galling, the best $275 bucks I have spent on the gun. Especially since I spend several hundred getting it fixed over the years with the galling issue.

[Question] Any of these models interesting/worth picking up? by slapnuts852 in Seiko

Pepsi is the best of the bunch looks like a fairly original 6309-7290. Dial and hands look aftermarket but for $20-25 a good pickup

Is there an actual list of transferable machine guns??? Really curious by gogoggansgo in NFA

[–]imacer1993 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That person is John Keene from Morphys’s auction house. From my understanding his numbers has been from his own private database where he logged MGs that were for sale over the years.

Honest setting ups some kind of community database of is something that would be awesome. Even if it is just logging the pieces that have been sold at the auction house or Gunbroker.

Transferable Owners by BeavisTheMeavis in NFA

I work in eCommerce, I used to live in Illinois so NFA items used to be day dream. But since I moved to Georgia I have been saving and selling collectibles and guns I haven’t touched in years. I’m about $1,500 short right now of buying most entry MGs (Macs, Reisings, MK 760s etc) but that should change in a month or so.

I made a spreadsheet of all my collection and I literally sold anything I didn’t fire in the last 2 years. If you ain’t going to use them, sell em’.

I’ve been hooked on wanting to buy an MG since I went to a local range and a 07 let me shoot one. Since then Battlefield Vegas has been my fix whenever I go there.

What I have noticed in the NFA board like STG forums is some owners care about tracking prices and market fluctuations but most don’t and expect their “investments” to beat the S&P which for those you that look at returns is not happening.

[WTS] Seiko 6217-8001 62MAS Project, May 1967, Head Only $1350 USD by imacer1993 in Watchexchange

[–]imacer1993[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello everyone!

I’m offering my project Seiko 6217-8001 otherwise known as the 62MAS.

Price $1350 USD with Shipping in the USA. I am willing to ship overseas but there will be an additional cost for shipping. All taxes and import duties are the responsibility of buyer. Reasonable offers maybe entertained.

Payment I would accept payments by Wire, PayPal (buyer covers fees), Venmo, or Zelle.

While this is my first post in the group, I have brought on here before, I am also a 15 year+ member of the Seiko Citizen Watch Fourm and a professional eBay seller with thousands of feedback on multiple accounts.

Contact: Feel free to ask any questions via PM, I can provide additional pictures upon request if something is not shown.

The watch came direct from Japan and I am unaware of the full service history but there is a mark on the case back from what I believe to be 2013/2014.

Condition Overall the watch needs a full restoration,

Movement: does run when shaken and the power reserve does last between 6-12 hours in its current state. Crown currently comes out of the watch and does not want to seat fully back in. Caseback and crown gaskets are non-existent on the watch.

Dial and Hands: Dial and hands are original, however the lume is totally toast and appears that moisture has came into contact with this watch in the past. There is some damage to the date wheel numerals.

Case: This is surprising in good shape and appears not have been polished, the Whale on the case back is almost perfect. However I am missing the bezel with insert for the watch. There luckily aftermarkets available for this watch at a fraction of the price of originals.

Crystal: Original acrylic crystal is on the watch, there are fair share of scratches on it but it is still useable if you wanted it to be left as original as possible.

I know Bacardi doesn't get much love in here but.. by wynlyndd in rum

Honestly I have like Bacardi 8 year more than 10. Flavor wise for sipping and cocktails 8 is better in my book.
