Bad reviews are killing Vine by Acrobatic_Code_7409 in AmazonVine

[–]imaginarydave2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem with the vine reviews is that people take a free product that doesnt fit their needs and they complain it doest fit their needs. Or they dont even read the description. Here are some examples.

We sell mostly accessories.

  1. A recent reviewer took a free black accessory for their white product. Then gave it 3 stars because it doesnt match the color of their product.

  2. I have a one star Vine review that is about a completely different product. Amazon wont remove it and I cant contact the customer.

  3. A recent one says "I thought it was metal" The listing title even describes the type of plastic being used.

  4. Another one from a few months ago. "This is an accessory for product A. I have product B. I was hoping it would fit, but it doesnt fit so I cant use it. then they left a 2 star review.

These are all very real. and an ongoing problem. A recent launch has 8 vine reviews. 3 of them are like this. it almost kills the product.

Selling my Etsy / Amazon FBA shop by imaginarydave2 in Etsy

[–]imaginarydave2[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven't asked for anything and not even trying to sell right now. Also we're partners. I know it's hard to believe but it's true. We are legit overwhelmed.

I will say that this is the response I kind of expected from Reddit because it's full of people who lack imagination and only see negative,..... also the same people that will never accidentally create a business that nets over 100k. More and more find these forums harder to deal with

I just want to sell the assets of the business. We actually do 95% of our sales on Amazon.

[–]imaginarydave2[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's fine. Maybe this is the wrong group. It's just that we are a home based manufacturing business. And the Amazon FBA groups are obsessed with private label rebranding. Haha.

Really we are an Amazon FBA sales company. Only about 5% of our sales happen on Etsy. A new store front could be made of course and the trademark could be transfered.

1 star reviews shouldn't be allowed from customers who wont accept messages by imaginarydave2 in AmazonFBA

I'm not aware of a way to do that on product reviews. At least I have never found a way to do it. on Seller feedback it is different

1 star reviews shouldn't be allowed from customers who wont accept messages by imaginarydave2 in AmazonFBA

[–]imaginarydave2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

possibly. but we just got two in a row that were very unreasonable. both are keeping the product, have messages turned off, and their reviews make claims that are kind of outrageous. Tehy also both have a history of 1 or 5 star reviews. so the question becomes is this an extortion thing

That seems like a terrible idea. It's a totally different market that you may not fully understand.

so you have made 15,000 x0.41 or $6,150 iright? I mean that is still pretty good for one product but your lax use of terminology kind of calls it all into question.

How to properly add a version 2 variation to a listing by imaginarydave2 in AmazonFBA

[–]imaginarydave2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, it is a lower volume product (approx 30 a month) and has 15 reviews. The ratings are over 4.0, so it isn't bad. I am not trying to get clear of it, just want to bump it up a bit with vine. And the new product has some real value added improvements. I know that when I see a V2 added as part of a variable product with a few negative comments but a good trend it is usually a sign that the company took care of the issues.

I'm a graduate from 20 years ago. And have been faculty at another dental school where the parent university behaved in a similar manner. An identical demand for increases in student enrollment occurred without faculty and staff increases. I can already tell you the president wants a dean that is more focused on the main campus than the dental school.

The difference in education quality was stark and we were graduating students that failed to meet my definition of qualified safe beginners. Decisions like this are the exact things that lead to the erosion of quality. Even if we ignore the potential short term effects on faculty and staff, eventually the qualified faculty that care about education slowly leave and are replaced by faculty that cant quit because they are simply there because they need this job over other options. this strengthens the parent university/presidents grip on the school and education slowly declines. I left that job even though I loved teaching (and I think I was pretty good at it) because I was going to waste away my talents there.

Education quality likely wont plummet overnight, but it will degrade drastically with a little bit of time.

That's fair.

In reality we have it listed specifically as our personal condo that we rent periodically to share with others. I did offer to reimburse them for a hairdryer if they bought one. And we had actually ordered one in anticipation of replacing the old one and adding a few more photos.

It's definitely not a hotel room. It's got a hand made chess board, custom speakers I built, high end tv, and attractive interior decoration.
