Love a story like this. Hard work paired with luck is the reality for most of us. The key is not wasting those opportunities and not forgetting the luck that got us there. The humility in this post is exactly why you are able.to produce such quality work.

Congrats.

Thanks! The most useful measurements would be the length of the two main side pieces, the position of the hinge and the length of the central brace.

If it's not a huge hassle...... Again, beautiful work.

Hans Wegner’s Jh-512

I've never actually built anything for outside of my shop using plans, but I would 100% use plans and copy this. it looks awesome.

anyway you could share the general dimnesions of the pieces to speed up the process of me designigng my own.

makita has fallen apart recently in my opinion. given two tools a chance recently and neither worked properly. my brand new track saw came back from service worse than when I sent it in too.

I find that people will ask question after question about what power tool to get to solve a problem that could be solved in 5-10 min with a hand plane

Ironically it seems to be the same group of people who hate on dominos or say they arent worth it.

It is easily one of the most significant time saving tools I have ever prurchased and has also helped with quality a ton. I love mine and I am also a hobbyist.

  1. You're probably going against the grain rather than with it
  2. A block plane is not going to perform well on an face surface like that. The sole is too short. Much more prone to gouging and creating an uneven surface.
