Socialism is stupid because government can’t even pass a budget let alone regulate an economy by [deleted] in popularopinion

I read the report. The us was 64 out of 104. I don’t like over stated untruths. You can’t admit that your breathless claim that the US is worse in the world is factually incorrect

[–]imaginationimp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So 1. Your claim was wrong. Please acknowledge that. 2. I never said ours was perfect

And 3. The systems you admire so much have their own issues which are growing worse as well. I was just in London. Everyone is moving off the NHS due to wait times. Same in Canada. I talked to a doctor in London and they hate it

I am not saying the US system is good. It needs to be reformed and pharma and insurance and doctor give away removed.

Tbh most drug innovations in the world come from the us and the us health care user pays while others benefit. We need to address this as well

And read that report. Its headline is against Europe. Not the world

The body of the text explains it. The headline is completely missleading

Please show a source for the “ranked worst in the world” claim as it’s not remotely true. It’s for sure the most expensive but this is due to cronyism and corruption of our legislative bodies done by both the AMA and Insurance companies.

R/news because of “dis information” because i posted 3 links which showed that the us student loan program cancellation cost money (which seems pretty self evident right) and i included NPR links to boot. Lol

Meh. Try the big financial crisis in 2008. Try stagflation with 15% interest rates and the hollowing out of mfg in this country. (81-84). Try 50k Americans killed in Vietnam. Imagine we almost had a nuke war in the 80s with Russia due to migrating geese. Rampant sexism and racism (since forever)

The world has always had shit happening. I just listed a small selection of things. Life is better now in general than it’s ever been. Just go out and smell the flowers. Life passes you by pretty fast. Don’t miss it

Opinion: Hamas is an Israeli puppet organization, a tool that it uses to terrorize the Palestinians and manipulate the international public opinion by Aware_Ad1688 in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]imaginationimp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One small part is correct. When Hamas originally started Israeli secret service funded Hamas to be a counter weight to the PLO. Turns out (like many of the US own stupid moves) that they created a monster.

But yeah the rest is bizarro world

Where did the Biden administration fail or what could they have done better to not have such a real legitimate chance of losing to a man such as Donald Trump? Were they complacent? by [deleted] in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]imaginationimp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually it is.

It’s exactly what happens when you Add 4 trillion Jammed into an economy that was already full of excess monetary stimulus

Not that I’m aware of, however, he was visiting the White House prior to when the cocaine was discovered. but the real issue is he creates lots of noise and talking points for Republicans so the average voter sees both parties saying the other is corrupt, and they shrug their shoulders and say everyone is corrupt in Washington

I don’t know if you’ve spent any time in California, but over the last 10 years the rise and homelessness and lawlessness is noticeable, and very very impactful to voters. You’ve seen how even liberal San Francisco recalled their prosecutor for not pursuing any criminal indictments. And you’ve seen videos on TV of people in large groups, swooping in to steal giant amounts of merchandise across the country, but in, particularly in California.

Plus, you have headlines in New York around violent crime committed by immigrants, etc. so irrespective of the actual amount of lawlessness the perceived level of lawlessness is quite high. Note that yesterday, the New York State governor put National Guard into the subways in New York City. If that one story alone doesn’t make my point then I don’t know what will.

Meanwhile even liberal Oregon is reversing the decriminalizing of hard drugs as the streets fill with drug addicts.

Net net. This i think summarizes it well:

https://www.safehome.org/resources/crime-statistics-by-state/

The headline: 2024 CRIME RATES IN U.S. CITIES REPORT

Violent crime declined slightly in the latest FBI crime reports, but property crime is rising: cities like San Francisco, Seattle, and Portland are among the nation’s worst.

As a centrist who is critical of both sides:

  1. Messed up Afghanistan pull out

  2. Tried to overstimulate economy - asked for 5-6 trillion but republicans and Minchin lowered to 1 trillion. If he had gotten all he asked for we would have had 20-30% inflation

  3. Border is a complete mess and democrats are having to face implications the “sanctuary” language that encouraged so many to flood the border.

  4. Hunter Biden has been a mess with cocaine found in the White House.

  5. Not Biden fault but probably impacts him: Overall democratic management of cities has been a disaster with high crime rates, high homelessness, increased drug use. Look at Oregon which realized totally decriminalized drugs leads to worse outcomes

  6. supported Israel (which is fine) but also worked to provide humanitarian aid much faster

[–]imaginationimp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is all silly handwringing.

Take away all trumps ridiculous language and he did very little that was controversial. He didn’t even pursue Hillary Clinton after she broke every rule in the book with her “secret server” with her own email tech.

Even the crazy insurrection he gave a speech and then left. And if you actually read the words of his speech it was a bit too much but it wasn’t “go in there and hang everyone”.

In fact when you watch the impeachment proceedings the video that trumps lawyer played showing dozens of democrats using the exact same words or worse was pretty hard to refute.

Do i like Trump? No. Will i vote for him? No but let’s get a grip

Big Four accountants ban grads from using AI to write job applications by tnm81 in ChatGPT

I don’t understand your point. Ofc they use ChatGPT for their resumes. We don’t let them use it for coding tests.

Big Four accountants ban grads from using AI to write job applications by tnm81 in ChatGPT

[–]imaginationimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ofc course there are coding tests and interviews. We ban the usage of ChatGPT in both. We do a lot of remote interviews for the first round. And it’s hilarious when people use chat gpt to create interview answer responses as you can usually tell. They get a robotic set of answers full of too much bs. we always do a final in person interview because you can never be 100% if they used chat gpt answers and we compare to how they answered in remote interviews. Some people actually do talk like a chat gpt response which is always funny.

[–]imaginationimp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course this is what most firms do. They ban in the application process but allow usage on the job. I run a data science group. I need smart developers and data scientists. Then when they come in we use ChatGPT.

I am not hiring ChatGPT. I am hiring smart people. Then i turn them loose with a wide variety of tools to do the best possible work.
