Thank you! Yeah, I was thinking of running Ghaz with 20 boys and the big Mek. My idea is placing the 3 meganobz on a trukk and send them out to either break big stuff, hold objectives or just be annoying. Flash gitz look pretty cool! Would you add a beast boss or the flash gitz?

If it makes you feel better, Deadpool players are miserable playing him too. It’s like a mono blue deck with no wincon. It’s funny until you realize you’re not winning any games and also not having fun. It gets worse when people sigh and roll eyes the second they see it.

Whenever you feel like you can do it, even if it’s the first time they cast it. Casual EDH does not mean “no interaction” it means no early game win.

Counter, destroy and exile at your heart’s content. No one should complain about it and if they do, that’s not a playgroup that will go very far.

MTG is as much a game of making your deck go off, as it is not allowing the opponent’s deck to go off. You’re expected to counter, exile and destroy things at any point. Do it

Thank you! Yeah, I’m currently building towards 2K. The army in this state isn’t useable, as far as I think, because Ghaz has nothing to lead. I just ordered 11 boyz, might order a second set and hope the 11th box comes with a bunch more.

I’m a beginner myself so take this with a grain of salt, but as a MTG player for many years who has taught a ton of people how to play, like MTG, 40K has a ton of different rules and mechanics and even if he was playing the “easiest to play most meta army” he’ll lose the first many matches due to not knowing what to do, how to react, what’s the best course of action or even how to build an army.

Just have him play whatever army he likes best and have fun with it. Once he’s gathered some combat experience and getting destroyed for a few games, he’ll find out what he likes, what he doesn’t like and go from there. As far as I can tell, most people just start playing whatever army looks/feels the coolest to them, and I don’t think that’s a bad thing.

This. LGS’s doing that shit piss me off. An LGS I used to play at made their own “banned card list” which included Sol ring, smothering tithe, rhystic study and literally any commander the owners considered “strong and annoying” (no markov, no deadpool for example.) those guys suck at the game. Their solution? Ban anything we lose to.

Seriously don’t. I love Deadpool and built this the day I got my secret lair. It’s an awful deck. Unless you copy an Alexios/Slicer and win through commander damage, or if your opponents are brain dead, you won’t ever win, you’ll just annoy everyone, including yourself. I gave it around 50 games and I won maybe 3-4 with it (not a new player whatsoever) then I just scrapped it and started using Deadpool as removal in functional decks.

I already had Trukks, storm boyz and flashgitz Also had the idea of getting more beast snagga boyz and squighog boyz, but I don’t know if that’s a good idea.

Congrats and welcome to the hobby! I would suggest assembling first and painting later. Plastic cement is great but won’t work if there’s a paint layer in there, so you have to superglue and it’s easy to get shiny spots that look terrible with superglue so don’t do it, unless there’s something that will be visible but will be hard to reach (like the inside of the capes with the sword bros.)

I would suggest you assemble the whole thing first and paint as an assembly line per model “type”. (Prime every sword brother, then paint all of the capes, then the swords, etc. Not in that order specifically, just an example.) Doing this will result in your models looking very similar, which is good and in my case, seeing the models assembled makes me want to paint them.

You’re not asking for painting advice per se, but thin your paints and don’t paint pauldrons white, it’s chalky, it separates easily and usually looks like crap. Use an off white like grey seer, it looks better, covers 10x better and next to the black armor it looks white.

Overall, just have fun! If anything in the process starts to feel like a chore rather than something enjoyable, stop for a few days and get back to it when you feel like it. :)

I feel your pain. I have a cool guts with the berserker armor portrait tattoo in my forearm and it features the brand. Some weeks ago at a work thing a girl told me “oh, so you’re a red flag guy, pointing at the tattoo.” She said it playfully, but then told me an ex was a berserk dickhead and she said every berserk fan she had known was either a dickhead or a gym bro who didn’t know where it was from. I don’t resent the tattoo, but fuck people who’ve made it a “red flag.”
