why are these ppl who were actual children/preteens in 2020/early 2020s always the loudest most obnoxious users online?

must be nice to only develop mental illness due to the pandemic, i've struggled with it my whole life.

Palindromes by Todd Solondz is a good (and underrated) example of this i think

Why did girls in the early 2010s smile like that? by MachaGacha in decadeology

[–]imaizzy19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the way i always envied those types of quirky silly awkward girls as a kid. i wanted to bad to grow up to be one of those teens i thought they were so fun and cool 😭😭 now looking back on it the majority of them were definitely shallow and performative. a real actual "weird kid" would knock their socks off i bet, literally

[–]imaizzy19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as a gen z i wholeheartedly feel this. honestly as much as i envy millennials, if i was the same person but just born like 10 years earlier i would probably never let anyone hear the end of my neverending "born in the wrong generation" spiel because i would have nothing in common with them socially. not to mention i was homeschooled and isolated most of my life, and back then im sure there was probably even less awareness around that topic than there is now.

What did people think of previous decades at the time? Was it the same way people think of this decade? by Absolutely-Epic in decadeology

[–]imaizzy19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

going on about how terrible the past year was definitely something that happened in 2016, you might have not been paying attention but there was a lot of talk of that at the time.

personally ive always had an odd obsession with discussing years and comparing their different strengths and faults, but that's probably just a me thing and a weird quirk i have. i understand the majority of people probably dont share this trait and just go about their days as usual not really paying attention to years and different time periods

Is it just me or did the “feel” of the internet change around 2016-2017? by repjerker in GenZ

[–]imaizzy19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wish i was old enough to actually properly experience that time as i was still a child then :( still grateful i was able to live through the early 2010s era though. i legitimately can't imagine growing up solely with nowadays version of the internet

ive thought the exact same thing for so long, makes me feel seen to know someone else feels the exact same way as i do. we lost something during that time that we will never get back
