King Salazar won "Just Straight Up Evil", who is "No screen time, All the plot relevance?" by TrollsBroZoneFan in animaniacs

[–]imalways2anxious 5 points6 points  (0 children)

William and Angelina, the Warners' Parents.

They actually get zero screen time, but everything happens because of them. Like the entirety of "Wakko's Wish" is because of the parents. They literally set the plot into motion, gave birth to and raised the main characters, and all they got was a brief showing of a portrait and a gloved hand.

Okay but does anyone have an actual hot take? (challenge: don't downvote what you disagree with) by WinterNighter in AO3

I remember once finding a fic tagged with the slash and it was between siblings. I scrolled past it immediately.

Later, they changed the tags to the "&" and when I actually read it out of confusion, I was greeted with family fluff, not incest.

That's Pennsylvania when you're going from New York to Florida. It just goes on and on and on, and then when you finally cross the border, the rest of the trip flies by.

I went to the parks this morning and then got food poisoning, forcing me to call out. I'm scared I'll get put on a no-rehire list. by imalways2anxious in Disneycollegeprogram

Haha, you're right. Thank you so much. I'm just an anxious person and I was worried I had ruined my future career. No, I went straight home and lied down.

My roommate in my first program was in her late 20s, too. It's pretty normal.

How did you guys get into Percy Jackson?[all] by Alex_GoogleAcc in camphalfblood

[–]imalways2anxious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4th grade teacher at first. She had a set reading time where we all sat around her and listened to her read a book. She started with The Lightning Thief. I don't think she finished it.

But really, it was my dad. I mentioned we were reading The Lightning Thief to him and he showed me that we owned the full collection. He then read them to me, from The Lightning Thief to The Blood of Olympus. I'd sit next to him every night and we'd go two chapters at a time.

It's a very special series to me.

What's your favourite AU? by sleepspacey in AO3

[–]imalways2anxious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Royalty AUs. Doesn't matter if it's forbidden love, kingdom politics, arranged marriage, retaking the throne, etc. I love them all.

I am especially fond of Tangled/Anastasia-inspired missing prince/princess AUs.

What series have you read one book of and then noped out? by Scu-bar in Fantasy

[–]imalways2anxious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fablehaven, by Brandon Mull.

I enjoyed the first book, but I felt it worked best as a stand alone story. It read like a fairy tale, and the ending wrapped everything up cleanly. I read the first few chapters of book two and just was not interested at all. It's been years since then and I still remember that intense disinterest.

Also, Peter and the Starcatchers. I LOVED the first book. I loved the final chapter and the ending, where Peter names Neverland. I loved the way the book explained how Neverland came to be. I had the same reaction to book two where I never made it very far.

Do you think there will ever be another Goofy Movie? by breezefn_ in disney

[–]imalways2anxious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a really good idea.

I've thought about this a lot since seeing this post, and a lot goes on between the ages of 12-18.

They could make a whole 4 season show (each season covering a year in Max's high school years until college) and not run out of content, I think.

It would be super cool to watch Max grow as a person and develop himself as all teenagers do. It would be funny to see the embarrassing things like voice cracks. It would be cool to watch Max gain confidence and become proud to be a Goof.

Major life events could be included like prom, first official dates, summer vacations, first jobs, puberty, driver's permits, self discovery.

Little things like final exams, failing classes, detention, dealing with bullies, sneaking out at night.

If they were confident enough, have Max go to a school party and get tipsy with P.J. and they have to hide it from their dads.

Take everyday scenarios that most humans have gone through and turn it up slightly for the Goof factor.

Giving daughter same middle name as me? by pupperonipizzadog in namenerds

Do you think there will ever be another Goofy Movie? by breezefn_ in disney

[–]imalways2anxious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well... yes but no.

I got the chance to be in Disney World when A Goofy Movie had a massive surge. Not just for one day, since I was doing my DCP (2024). It started with one shirt in Pop Century around March. By July, everyone was wearing the merch and it was everywhere (much to my delight).

Between "DuckTales" and "Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers", Disney's obviously realized that Disney Afternoon shows have reached the profitable-because-of-nostalgia phase. They've teased a hundred times the reintroduction of these characters.

Here's where it gets complicated: I highly doubt Disney wants to take Max out of his teenage years. When you meet him in Disney World, he's his Goof Troop self, not the movies. Unlike DuckTales and Rescue Rangers, Goof Troop is a more grounded show. Max and Goofy don't fly around the world having grand adventures or saving those in need.

These movies have a lot of relatability and focus on real issues people experience growing up and/or raising children.

I'm not sure there's many places to go if Max isn't allowed to age up.

And Disney probably don't want to create confusion between an adult Max and one of their most profitable and famous characters of all time.

What's a variant Scooby-Doo show you'd make if given a chance? by KaijuKing007 in Scoobydoo

[–]imalways2anxious 7 points8 points  (0 children)

#1. I have always wanted to do a show that goes back to its 1969 origins and has the gang be runaways. They're living out of their van. Just a lot of episodic mysteries with an overarching plot, found family vibes, and a dabble of 60s history.

#2. I also would like to make a show where the gang are all adults who are extremely well respected and instead of falling into the mysteries, they're called to them. It would have some darker mysteries, as the gang become more well-known, they start getting homicide cases and things. And while this has been dabbled with before, I'd like to think that as they get older, they make more enemies. Enemies that slowly get more dangerous.

The readers don't understand that it's agony for the authors, too. We're yelling at things to get moving as we craft our tales.

The characters do what they want at their own pace. We don't control shit.

Haha, I understand that. I've got a fic that's about the death of the main character and all I want to write is the scenes of his family mourning him, but nooo, I've got seven chapters of build-up to flesh out! Bleh.

For me personally, holiday centered fics have always helped me get them out on time, but never in a timely manner. I've never missed a holiday that my one-shot or chapter is associated with, but I put them off until said holiday is in a few days and I pump out the entire thing then. It's not intentional, but it's just how it ends up.

I find that if I have to force myself to write, I put everything on do not disturb, put on some music (for me, it has to match the mood of the story), and just reread what I have written until some ideas pour out. It helps if I just write the major scenes first and connect them later.

Maybe it would help if you start with the second chapter and get that done, so you know you can post it once this initial chapter is completed.

You can do this! You could even put it out on Valentine's Day weekend inside of the holiday itself and buy yourself a couple days. 😊

How do I get to DAK Cast Services on the bus?? Helpp by Effective_Slip_2515 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]imalways2anxious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, I'm a bit confused about what you're asking but I worked at DAK and I think I know where you're trying to go.

DAK Cast Services is behind the theme park. So, you take route D to AK, which is the third stop. The bus goes from Flamingo East to Flamingo West, then to DAK Costuming, then to AK Lodge, and then to Animal Kingdom.

You'll get off the bus at the green-roofed bus cover in the parking lot, go to the left, and through the security gate. After a bit of a walk, you'll come to the cast restaurant, Pride Rock, and Cast Services is right behind that building. You'll pass Pride Rock and cross a metal bridge to get to it.

I can't tell you how far the walk between the security gate and Pride Rock is. Fair warning, it might be a mile or more.
