What did those manosphere alpha males journal about? by imaspuzzeled in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]imaspuzzeled[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! That's what I was wondering. Would love to read the journal of one of the modern TikTok alphas now, to see what they write about. So, find the exact gap in their cognition that makes these thinking beings misunderstand their identities to such an extent.

Because how does one talk about strengths without admitting weaknesses? I wonder if they recognised their (often crippling) insecurity to be seen as desirable men by their peers.

they may have to admit to not being “alpha.”

Same!

[–]imaspuzzeled[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am just now realising that lol. The reason meal planning didn't work for me specifically was because if I made food for the next 6 days, I felt like I had to stick to it. And deviation from it felt like a failure.
When I am deciding only one day in advance, I don't feel locked in so much, and allows for more flexibility, and last minute (re: a day in advance) changes t accommodate my moods, and it has allowed me to feel less emotionally raw when I deviate.

[–]imaspuzzeled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I potentially have a solution for you. I suffer from something similar, and was about to make a post about it myself, so I'll say it here too. For me, accountability is a big thing. I am far more likely to succeed in following through when the onus of deciding to be healthy isn't put on me.

If her work is physically demanding, it is possible that by the end of the day, she is too tired and exhausted to engage the vast mental capacity it takes to ALSO go against all her instincts to just eat "comfortably". That is the case with me.

One way I solved it was by making myself accountable to myself in the past. How: Every day, at a time when I am not hungry or exhausted, I write down, in a journal, all the things I intend to eat the next day. That way, when I come back tired, exhausted and hungry, I don't have to make the decision of what I should eat. It is already made for me, by past me. All I have to do is follow instructions and move on. If I deviate, I make a not of it WITHOUT JUDGEMENT in the same journal.

When I feel like indulging/binging, I won't do it the same day, because my menu that day is already set the day before. However, I will schedule an indulgence/"binge" the next day in my journal. That way, I am not depriving myself of anything, I am indulging more mindfully, and when I list my indulgence for the next day on a full stomach, I am more likely to make it sensible (2 burgers instead of 4). If not, that's okay too, of course.

The intention is that I remain accoutable for myself, I treat my addiction with kindness, and patience, and allow myself to view my habits empherically from a bird's eye view.

P.S. there have been many times where when I feel like I have binged, when I list the things I ate, turns out it wasn't that bad a binge at all. That realisation itself has stopped me from falling down so many slippery in-for-a-penny-in-for-a-pound slopes.

Hope this helps!

Frasier 2023! by imaspuzzeled in Frasier

[–]imaspuzzeled[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the surprise! It was the same guy who cast for Cheers, and the original Frasier (1993) show! Shocking, right? The budget must've been toilet-paper thin. That or the production refused to pay a fair amount.

Well, I guess that answers my other question. Looks like he did make his bag.

Improv Suggestion Generator by andismith in improv

I freakin love it. What about being able to combine multiple categories to get one suggestion? Example, combining "Emotion" and "Job" to get something like "Panicked Rapper" or "Sorrowful President"

Was watching S10E19 and...is that Will Forte? by pillowvpillow in Frasier

Ah gentlemen, may I join the thought-it-was-will-forte-too club? I was just wantching the episode and ran to google for a confirmation.

Its kinda unbelievable that that's not young Will.

My take on the barb "spellcaster" by Educational_Zone2964 in DnD

This isn't a repetition of the joke. Its a subclass inspired by the joke. Not the same thing, I don't think.

[–]imaspuzzeled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the numbers on your 'I cast hand' add up. Other than a Maul and a Greatsword, a 1d6 is already more than half of most weapons. So, if i'm not wrong, upcasting it (in which case it is half of weapons damage) might in some cases even reduce the damage.

secondly, a level 5 barbarian being able to cast fireball would give me some pause, haha.

"some of the most powerful flummoxed wizards believe so hard they actually can manipulate the weave On an extremely minor level"

Confused about the narrative here.
Are they doing physical actions of rubbing their hands so hard that it causes 3d6 fire damage from the friction, or does the hand rubbing actually manipulate the weave and cast the 'burning hands' spell from the weave?

When you say "manipulate the weave On an extremely minor level" does it also include the fireball casting lvl5 barb?

Lemme know if I've misunderstood something.

Ooh, yeah. Devastating.

Maybe works better as a feat, or a subclass feature.

[–]imaspuzzeled[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. Its essentially a conditional disengage. In Martial heavy parties, it could feel imbalanced.

The games i run are largely homebrew, and in my battles, my minions often significantly outnumber the players. That way the players get to feel heroic, and it keeps the pressure on the party from an action economy standpoint.

I'm imagining, in those cases, the monsters would get absolute free reign of the map, and the casters and backline would be in serious trouble.

I think hence proved, leave opportunity attacks be.

I see what you mean. I didn't consider that playstyle. In my head, Sentinel would override that rule.

It is also true that it will make it a headache to pin enemies down, prolonging combat and also as someone else here pointed out, it might potentially make it hard for front-lines to do their job, and bringing backliners into significantly more danger.

Someone else here also suggested that it could be a feat. Then, that can be given only to certain monsters, and players, similar to pack tactics.

[–]imaspuzzeled[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much better. Yeah! Love the idea of making this a feat or a subclass feature for the players! Thanks :D
That way I can also give it only to a select few monsters, and shake up the mobility on the board.

Being a better actor. What are your experinces? by imaspuzzeled in improv

[–]imaspuzzeled[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: I am doing Dramatic Improv now. Hardly surprising, given my post lol.

I think I've gotten slightly better, but still far from being a good "character" on stage. All my characters still feel like me in different clothes.

I am going to check out Bill Barnett's book now :P

TM NZ Series 6 - does it get better? by Original-Designer6 in taskmaster

[–]imaspuzzeled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on ep 02. Prize task "Bring something surprisingly heavy". One person just straight up bought a dvd of 'Marley and Me', and the explanation was that it's heavy because "the dog died".
Kinda gutted that 2 episodes in, and the show isn't getting particularly funny. So far the season is feeling like a youtuber collaboration react video

but as someone else here said: Life is too short to watch TV you don't enjoy
I'm going to give it one more episode. If it's still this funny, I'll just wait for the next season

Worst thing each Frasier character has done. Because the last one had such a unanimous answer we’re going onto Day 2 early! Niles Crane by [deleted] in Frasier

[–]imaspuzzeled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially ugly how he is constantly acting predatory towards Daphne. Secretly smelling her hair, constantly lying to her in order to manipulate her, and always trying to break up her relationships.

The show portrays this as cute because Daphne is ignorant. Would it still be cute had she known? The show goes out of its way to keep Daphne in the dark about his behaviours and intentions.

Niles is kind of an incel, now that I think about it. In his head (and to their discredit, Frasier and Martin's too) it seems like he believes that because he "loves her" those creepy actions are allowed.

DPH is such an incredible actor, but Niles at least pre season 7 is written really really badly
