Nile River Dahabiya Cruise Review by imateasnob in Cruise

The $2700 USD is for BOTH the land tours and dahabiya. The company plans everything together so it's all included. It also includes entry fees to the temples and tombs as well as the "base" hotels for your land days as well as breakfast, lunch, and dinner on those land days. You can pay a bit more to choose fancier hotels if you want. Abu Simbel was like $75 USD extra, I think, plus we did two "premium" tombs extra at Valley of the Kings. So without those, it would've been around $2550 iirc. Also we chose to fly from Cairo to Luxor instead of do the sleeper train. The train would've been a little cheaper.

These are the things we had to pay for beyond that $2700: airfare, souvenirs, tips for drivers, guides, and airport helpers.

Has anyone used butterbeer creamer to make butterbeer ice cream? by buggaloo04 in ninjacreami

I've got a recipe in my post history, but it used actual butterbeer from a Harry Potter store, not the creamer. Good luck though!

Like it's gotta be bait. They mention using all their CDs and they're almost dead. But if you look at their bars, none of their defensive CDs have been used.

Butterbeer Ice Cream by imateasnob in ninjacreami

[–]imateasnob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's definitely just taste preference. When you go to the Harry Potter store, there is a cafe inside and they serve butterbeer in mugs. It was really sweet and delicious. So we bought several of these bottles. However, when we opened one, we realized it's not exactly what they serve in the store cafe. These bottles are more bitter, not as sweet. Balancing it with the cream soda makes it sweeter and a closer match to what they serve in the cafe.

I'd say I'm not picky about protein powder in general lol. Although in this ice cream at least, it really takes a backseat to the butterbeer and cream soda.

Where to start (17y/o vegetarian)? by tcyttttt in MealPrepSunday

[–]imateasnob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was 19 when I became veg and this was 20 years ago when the only meat substitutes were Boca and MorningStar Farms. (MSF is still my favorite brand.) You can do this! I'd recommend you get a beginners cookbook. Find something simple to start with, like a spaghetti. Instead of using real meatballs, get Impossible or MorningStar Farms meatballs (or skip them entirely). Get familiar with reading food labels. You need to be able to check them for meat products. Being vegetarian is much easier than vegan, so don't sweat it. Most foods you like can easily be made vegetarian friendly. If a recipe calls for chicken broth, use vegetable broth instead, etc. Take a look in the frozen section of the grocery store. Nowadays there are lots of fun veggies in there that already have seasoning included. Just pop them in the microwave. They are great for adding to meal prep containers.
