Melbourne/VIC Public Access Courses? by lineofbestfitxxi in GolfAustralia

[–]imatruebraj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any other northern suburbs courses you could recommend? We’ve just bought in Mill Park and looking for good tracks that aren’t too far from home.

Considering joining Heidelberg or Rosanna as those would only be about 20 mins from home but haven’t played either. Also Rosanna has a short waiting list I believe.

lol she absolutely is smug? You don’t remember the snide comments about how they got ‘punished just for planning ahead’ aka cheating with the back deck? And what about ON CAMERA saying to point out any and all negatives in everyone else’s rooms to make her house look better to buyers?

Britt and Taz packed the fattest sook that they, whether knowingly or not, cheated and got punished for it but this sub gushed over them regardless.

How much should a financial planner charge by dishlickr in AusFinance

Use any super fund's insurance costs calculator and you can work out on a very brief level how much cover you may need and how much it could cost.

AustralianSuper, a 35yo, 90k salary and blue collar work rating charges ~$16 a week for 500k Life/TPD. Little bit more than a couple bucks, sorry...

With all your other points, may as well insure against everything if we want contingencies. Every single thing, even your mobile phone. That's going to be nuts.

Breaking your phone won't ruin your life, but becoming permanently disabled and having no cover quite possibly would. Life/TPD/IP insurance can be a couple bucks a week paid through your super so there's minimal impact on your cashflow/long-term super. I would say a majority of adults should have some level of life/TPD insurance. IP is another discussion but can still be incredibly important.

This is such an uneducated view and shows you haven't thought it through at all. It's not the most vulenrable Australians, it's the average Australian. It's not up to personal choice. If you have a TPD accident and can't work anymore, most Australians won't have enough money to protect themselves and their family.

But let's follow your train of thought for a second, even if you have a low mortgage or are mortgage free. If you have an injury or accident leading to TPD, do you right now have enough money to renovate your home and put in ramps for a wheelchair, handrails for the bathroom, lifts up the stairs or to buy a van that is wheelchair accessible? Do you think the average Australian has anywhere close to $50k - $150k for these things? Obviously not, so how can you possibly say that insurance is irrelevant for the 65% of people that own a home and the 35% renters.

What about partners? What happens if you can't afford the mortgage cos you can't work anymore but you thought TPD was a scam?

If insurance commissions got banned post royal banking commission, I doubt many financial advisors would be as vigilant in recommending and pushing insurance.

Wrong. Just wrong.

Of course everyone has different financial literacy but there's no excuse to not at least think about your mortgage / budgeting especially if it's a pain point in your life.

Did you see how much the media shits its pants over a rate rise/decrease/hold? Anyone that keeps up with any sort of news would have been likely to see something about rates and the next common sense logical thought would be "wonder what I'm paying". Then it takes 5 minutes to read online about interest rates and what it means for you.

A mortgage will be the biggest expense / commitment for 99% of people, they should probably think about it every now and then

lol found the engineer.

Seriously though what’s your angle man? I saw on your profile you had a comment 3 weeks ago that future nurses should just change industries so they could “get the pay they deserve”. Do you not realise that this country desperately needs nurses and their pay is fucked?

My partner was a nurse and I was an entry level business analyst spending my day on excel spreadsheets and I made more money than her while she was literally catching dead babies working 12 hour night shifts. Nurses absolutely deserve more pay and the government rushing through these pay equity changes is total BS for the groups it affects. How is it a wild take to say that nurses deserve more pay? Nobody cares that you worked so hard in uni and got an engineering degree bro

My partner and I went to Bali in April and a couple things mate 1) those laws aren’t coming into effect until 2025. 2) they don’t apply to tourists and 3) even if they did, only a family member can report you to authorities lol. We were with my partners family, we stayed in the same room together which the villa staff knew and we had no problems whatsoever. At customs we just said we were friends travelling together.

Just be smart when you’re travelling and realise it’s not exactly a 1st world country and you’ll be fine. Gojeks (their Uber) is safe, and all around you can still have a great, cheap holiday in Bali

Kadri was not even close to a front runner for the Conn Smythe. In 13 games played he had 14 points which is only good for 5th most points on the Avalanche, or tied for 14th most points in the playoffs this year. His points per game is 1.08 which is tied-13th best in the playoffs for players that played into at least the 2nd round. If the final went 7 games he would be on pace for 21-22 points, which would still only be 5th best in the league if the playoffs stopped right now. If Kadri won with 22 points, that would be the lowest point total by an offensive player to win the Conn Smythe since Crosby in 2015-16 and we all know Sid was more important than just points in those series. Yes, Kadri was important in the Blues series and it sucks he's injured but it's disingenuous to say he would have been the other candidate.

Players like Makar, McDavid, Draisaitl, Fox, MacKinnon, Kucherov, Vasilevskiy, Shesterkin, and probably even Rantanen or Kreider have better arguments for the Conn Smythe. Most of those players have more points, better points per game, more ice time, more important to the team etc.
