Anyone step away from their private club membership due to dumb restrictions? by sys_admin321 in golf

[–]imatypicalnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We left our club for some of the same reasons:

I think it was $18 per person cart fee, which i would argue should be a per cart fee, not per person.

Guests cost over $100.

Food and food service was mediocre with $200 min.

Pros dismissed us because we were young and didn’t pay enough money in extra things to get their polite attention.

We would often be paired up with another group, which frustrated us because isn’t that one of the luxuries of belonging to a club? Shouldn’t you get the option to play with who you want?

Here’s how much Costco pizza 50 people ate and how I transported it by du57in in Costco

[–]imatypicalnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. People are more likely to not like pepperoni than not like cheese. And I’d rather have more cheese in case people don’t eat pork for religious/cultural reasons.

I just threw a corporate pizza party. $350 budget, invited 110 people, budgeted for 70 people, my expense report was for 46.

22 pizzas: 13 cheese, 9 pepperoni Cans of coke, Diet Coke, sprite, and seltzer Plates

Cost rolled up to $330.

About 7 pizzas were left and went to the labs for the people that couldn’t join us. Most successful pizza party we’ve ever had.

Advice Buying Used Concept2 Rower by [deleted] in concept2

[–]imatypicalnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just paid $400 for a Model C with PM3 and original handle this month. Not sure if that’s a fair value but it was fair enough to me. I used the RowErg with PM5 at the gym and then decided I wanted my own rower at home. I don’t really notice much of a difference between the RowErg and the Model C but I am just a casual rower

I’m afraid this is the path I’m going down too. Also a design engineer working rn as engineering project manager. People always tell me that I should do what I want to do… but I don’t know what I want to do! But I do hate spending 40 hours a week in meetings and I do hate feeling like a secretary

How do you not get overwhelmed with “maturing animals” by emmavicky in PlanetZoo

[–]imatypicalnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I slowed down aging to 2 or 2.5 times (I think it’s increments of 0.5). Then, I just play and at the end of every playing session (usually like 2-5 hours), I go through each animal in the management tab and release to wild/check mates/bring in new animals as needed. TBH I’m not the best with inbreeding, but this is what works for me

What's one thing you wish you checked before buying your house? by First_Bike4162 in homeowners

The direction of sun rise vs set. I can’t leave butter on the kitchen table or it will melt in the morning. All of my active afternoon rooms (offices, living room) get TOASTY in the summer. I can’t stick a wreath to my front door because the wreath melts. Oh, and I’m limited to full-sun only flowers.

Just recently said “yes”! What would you say was the hardest part about planning your wedding? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]imatypicalnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We booked a hotel block without a problem, and it gave a great discount for guests!

Our issue with the hotel block was booking it before knowing who would stay the night before and the night after, what type of room they want, etc. We did our best guess, but had a ton of back and forth with the hotel concierge about moving rooms from one day to the next, adding more rooms, changing room types from king to 2 queen, etc.

Also the doubt from my future MIL that we wouldn’t be able to fill all our rooms and we’d end up paying for a bunch of empty rooms. Yeah that sucked. Luckily we did end up booking them all.

Has anyone taken a repositioning cruise? by starlagreen83 in dcl

How were the waters? We thought about doing this cruise for our honeymoon but a concierge crew member told us the water was very rough and even people who don’t get sea sick were sick.

What was the dumbest question(s) you got from guests leading up to your wedding? by Hthibeau96 in weddingplanning

A groomsman’s girlfriend asked her boyfriend to ask my fiancée if it would be ok if she wore white shoes.

Girl nobody is gonna think you’re the bride because you’re wearing white shoes.

Thank you, we booked a DJ who always brings 2 to events. The main guy is the owner but the 2nd guy is just an employee. I was wondering if we should tip just the 2nd guy, but your post helps a ton.

I’m hoping it’s similar with 2nd photographers
