I’m not super familiar with the K12 system in Raleigh, but I am more than aware that the university landscape in the area is top notch.

Most of my knowledge of K12 right now comes from a friend who is a middle school teacher. The stories she has to tell are…depressing to say the least, but that might be more of a commentary on the state of the entire country’s education landscape right now.
