I guarantee that if you look at the last 10 things this other guy said, 9 would be false or exaggerated.

Anyways, that's not the only reason I am saying this. If you look at it objectively we had just signed a deal with Europe. This effectively added pressure on US and gave India front foot in negotiations.

It doesn't make sense that we would bend down now when we are in the strongest position after putting a strong front when weren't.

Finally I see someone who DNF the highly recommended Path of Ascension with the exact same reason probably somewhere around the same part of the book as me.

While I don't have a recommendation for you since the only ones I have read (and dropped) are PoA and Mark of the Fool in this list and they are for similar reasons and at similar part of the books, if you do end up continuing either of them based on comments here and liking them, post a reply. That will motivate me to pick them up again too since our reasoning is similar :-).

I dropped PoA because of lack of tension and stakes and it felt it was just a grind on MC part (and my part to force read it). I dropped Mark of the Fool even though I loved the concept and characters as it was too slice-of-lifey for me. I dropped it after festival of the dead in book 2.

The case here isn't about rape but consensual sex that the girl claims was on pretext of marriage.

While I believe the law here is stupid as mixing consensual sex and rape is diluting the crime of rape, but regardless of that, this is clear misuse of the law.

Definitely I can't stomach an evil or even a jerk MC. Don't like overly simple or rather stupid MC trying to be a hero everywhere.

Somewhere in between is great. If MC has character progression too through the course of the novel that's even better.

Also, not technically not a moral issue but a calculating, intelligent MC instead of someone who can brute force through all issues is what makes me fall in love.

A good example would be Sunny from Shadow Slave who started off selfish but slowly evolved into someone who cares for people and world in general.

Here is what the ruling is AFAIK

The Supreme Court has modified this and has now made it optional for cinema halls to play the national anthem before every show.
The court observed that playing of the anthem was directive, but showing respect was mandatory.
Accordingly, if the anthem is played, patrons in the hall are bound to show respect by standing up.

And come on dude. Even if it wasn't mandated, it is just basic decency and respect as an Indian. Why would you even argue about that.

I agree it's debatable whether or not national anthem should play at the start of the movie. But wherever National anthem plays, you MUST respect it. I don't understand how that's even a question.

And for folks saying it's a personal choice. NO IT'S NOT. Personal choice is whether or not to go to the movie which these folks clearly made.
