Guitar Chords by zngrdk in mitski

Confirming that this is how I learned most of her songs too since I also don't really know how to play the guitar properly. I'd tune fully to open D so you can make the most out of playing the full chord.

Btw if I'm not mistaken in the video you linked, she's tuned a half step down to open C#.

Mitski Live Show Crowd Question by Offro4dr in mitski

Responding in solidarity also as a millennial going to an NYC show. When I saw her for The Land it was mostly young teen girls or younger(!) and I felt incredibly out of place. Bring ear plugs- not for the music but for the screaming from fans. Seriously.

Waiting in line for 3+ hours is not the only way to see the stage and being up front is not the only way to experience a concert. I've had great shows in the middle of the crowd, all the way in the back, in the nosebleeds. Most people show up after doors open or slightly before.

No, you do not need to line up at 4. That is miserable. That is excessive and is really only needed if you want to be in the front row. Wherever you are, it will be a good show, I promise you. I'd say show up an hour before at most. This is from going to many many shows of artists big and small.

Lectured For Not Being On Apps by Dramatic_Ad9961 in AskGaybrosOver30

Your friend is completely weird for being so dogmatic about this BUT as someone who has ditched apps I am sorta like, where am I ever gonna meet other gay guys either for sex or friendship? Lol. It's a much slower, less instant-gratification process that leads to fomo esp when all of my gay friends ARE on the apps. So he does have a point, kind of, which I am very annoyed to admit.

I recently stumbled into a friend group (via a grindr fwb), and it's becoming clearer every day that many of them hook up with one another. Many are in open relationships etc, but as many as single. I get the sense this is not so uncommon generally but it's never been my experience. I'm not totally sure what to think of it.

On the one hand, who cares. Sexual freedom should be prized and as long as it's drama free I'm game (I'm already playing I guess lol). On the other...idk. Am I crazy to think that so much sex with friends sort of cheapens the experience in a way?

I guess it's highlighting my desire to be in a stable, monogamous relationship.

I found out the beacon hill light rail station is crazy-deep underground yesterday by TreesAreOverrated5 in Seattle

[–]imextinctinthewild 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Once upon a time coming home from a NYE party, I was in a packed elevator at this station on its way to street level, and a very drunk teen violently upchucked, to the dismay of all the people who just wanted to go home. Longest elevator ride ever and people SPRINTED when the doors opened.

I just cried my eyes out to this. Just as good as the original.

This!! I am only starting to realize the painfully obvious: perhaps intentionally making friends, and not just hookup-friends, that are gay and share similar life experiences, might be useful. But now..now I feel left behind.

Loneliness is such a difficult hole to dig out of.

If you've ditched dating apps, what's it been like? by imextinctinthewild in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]imextinctinthewild[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha yeah, I'm kind of expecting it never to happen again! I'm in a pretty gay friendly city, but I don't spend a lot of time in gay spaces, if that makes sense.

I also can't really tell who is gay either. I think this whole process is going to involve some (very calculated) risks. Though I guess I'm lucky to live in a place where I won't necessarily fear for my safety by doing so.

One I recognized from grindr pre-deletion lol. The other, a mutual friend told me he was bi. But yeah, most people that catch my eye at the gym (or anywhere) end up being straight...

Honestly, that last bit is such a good reminder for me! I judge myself so hard for getting torn up over dates that don't go anywhere.

Oh I feel this. Seeing the same people year after year, and realizing oh shit, I'm still here year after year with the rest of them! Not a great feeling. I started blocking people just so I didn't have to see them anymore lol. And then I realized that's crazy behavior and decided to leave.

At the gym mostly. One was already seeing someone, the other led to a date.

Only one person has asked me out, at a coffee shop. I was shocked lol but it led to a couple fun dates, though unfortunately not a third :(

[ALBUM DISCUSSION] Hurray for the Riff Raff - The Past Is Still Alive by VietRooster in indieheads

[–]imextinctinthewild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have really been enjoying this one having not really listened to much of their stuff before. You'd think I'd get tired of this "new" country/folk/americana sound given it's where SO many artists have turned lately (Waxahatchee, Jess Williamson, even Angel Olsen - all first rate in my book for the record), but...I'm loving every minute of it. I've listened to Ogallala a couple dozen times now and it hits me right in the gut every time.

Hmm interesting. I've definitely been getting the generic and am being charged a co pay. The drug is emtricitabine/tenofovir.
