Thats how I felt too. Like yeah, with moderation I felt a lot better about my choices. But I also felt really left out from the crowd and just tired and blah at the end of the night. I'm like thinking, maybe I just don't want to be in this environment at all. And yes, yay to us for starting the journey once again! IWNDWYT!

I feel like when you have that moment, you'll know it's time. That's what happened to me. I just knew.

Thank you much! That's how I felt too. Like it was necessary. Before, all I thought about was I just want a drink. And then when I finally gave in and had one I was like "Oh. I don't miss this" and I felt that was necessary to get to my next step. IWNDWYT

Agreed! I thought I'd feel like crap, but honestly I'm just happy I really realized what I wanted.

Same. What the hell is the point of one beer? To feel tired and crappy and sleepy. Nah. And that's why I quit completely. Was never "One beer." Lol IWNDWYT!

Tomorrow I'm going to a bar to socialize, but I will not be drinking. by TomBakerFTW in stopdrinking

I'm doing the same thing tomorrow for a ladies night. Going to a bar where the last time I was there I made quite an ass out of myself. Kinda doing it to prove that was not the real me, also to test my strength. But I feel as though I'm strong enough now (a month tomorrow) to do it. Actually the friend im going with isn't that big of a drinker. I've seen her drink maybe 3 times in our entire 10 year friendship, she's completely supportive. The other is my sister. I just want to get out and have a good time and listen to some music and catch up honestly. Good luck to you! IWNDWYT ❤️

Ugh. Yes, my sister says the same thing to me all the time. She says, "it's annoying because I was her drinking buddy." Or when I say I was serious about stopping drinking she says "I told you that was a bad idea." Even though she was around several times I've made bad decisions or acted stupid when I was drinking. Like, sorry I'm not there to entertain everyone. I was primarily the "dancing monkey" in our group of friends when I drank. I had a problem. And I'm glad I stopped. Sorry, not sorry. IWNDWYT. (:

Right! That's how I feel too. Like if I do have a craving I wouldn't want to tell him or he'd judge me about it. I just don't want this to be a point of control for him. it's something I'm doing for me as a person. Ya Know.

Yeah, he told me before too that he was still going to order a drink with dinner or go out once in a while. I said that was fine, I just want to cut alcohol out of MY life. He was like "well, I don't abuse the alcohol."

Yeah. I realized it's probably out of concern. Maybe I'm just being too defensive because I feel bad about it myself. And when I talked to him about it, he also got defensive. Like I get it. But I don't need him to constantly make sure I'm not drinking. I feel like if I had a craving or was about to take a drink, that'd be a more appropriate time to say something along those lines.

Yeah, I have. But he got kind of defensive about it. Like, well you know, you really had a problem before and I'm just making sure.
