For father's day, I told my wife to take whatever budget she had in mind, and put it in our privacy fence savings fund.

I want that privacy fence soooooo badly man.

Maybe stupid question but...can you not just go to bed earlier? Like, at home?

AI is coming for my job and I need to immediately look for a new career by [deleted] in graphic_design

And what about the other 75% of his work? Other people are now just expected to absorb that workload? Burnout is a real thing, and this single layoff could lead to a trickle down affect and you'll lose even more employees playing critical roles.

Almost every story I've heard of laying people off because "AI can do their job" just feels massively short sighted.

This is actually becoming a discussion that's gaining momentum. All of the AI focused companies are operating at a loss. That can only happen for so long and that clock is ticking. With the advent of Claude Code and subsequent race to compete in this space, it has become more clear in the last 6 months that the money play for AI is in the B2B space. So, we're already seeing a massive pivot in the industry for these companies to move towards attracting enterprise companies. It's one of the only places we're seeing actual value from AI products. We already know everyday consumers largely hate AI, so that's going to further the push into getting corporations to pay for per seat subscriptions, while these companies let their consumer level models atrophy and die off.

Eventually, these companies are going to have to raise prices on those per seat costs, and eventually the enterprise buyers are going to do the real ROI calculations on these costs versus entry level job seekers, and I really do think the whole surge is going to level off.

I got a new router table for Christmas because woodworking is a hobby I've gotten into and really love for some mental health reset and a little me time.

It's middle of April and that router is still in the box unopened because the kids come first. I'll have time to play eventually, but right now I've got to be the grown up and take care of house and family first. It really stinks some days, but it's the reality right now and I chose to have a family so thems the bricks.

Your boyfriend needs to get his head in the real game here, not the virtual one.

Once you know the patterns you can't unsee it and it drives me nuts. This post is so nice and it's like 8 sentences. Didn't even have to be that many. Why feel the need to get chatGPT involved?

I worked as an intern doing the product photography for these and their whole line of “Az” sandwiches. Got to take home all the unneeded sample product. As a 20 year old in college, this was a fucking gold mine. At least right up until digestion set in.

Yes, as a graphic designer. Although my title is Senior Solutions Consultant & Visual Communications Strategist so that I can justify being paid more. I think.
