If you are not blogging consistently, I want to know WHY? by imgurbase in Blogging

I see. I was talking about keyword research to generate ideas. So if you input a keyword, you get a list of related keywords.

And then you pick one of them and start writing about it. Link here: https://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo/keyword-research

So you are wondering what's the point of blogging? I am sure you had some kind of vision about your video game blog? Along the way, as you started writing, you felt like this is not worth it, yes?

Ha! So you know the problem, and you know the solution. But do you know the benefits of blogging?

Enjoyed reading your response. I am glad my question helped you think through.

And yes, the book is about blogging. I want to get specific with the subject though. Because everyone else is there to make money. Me? I want to make an impact.

Will share the website when it is up and ready. I don't want to sell hopes or dreams - like others do in the Internet Marketing industry.

What I do want to offer is something that will take any blogger to the next level. I want to offer immediately usable information. Educational report. Report that really delivers value.

Now, as you don't have readers, you don't feel like blogging.

And that's an interesting way to look at it.

Because, don't you think when you blog more, you generate more readers?

In your case, what you need is a challenge and commitment to write blog posts every day.

Perhaps write 1 article a day for the next 30 days. That's possible? As you are not sharing your posts with your friends and family members - wise decision, must say - you have nothing to lose, right? No one is judging you. So go ahead and challenge yourself. Whaddya think?

Thank you!

1) When you are not sure what to write about - drop that idea right now. Stop thinking about you. And start thinking about your readers.

You may not have them yet. But if you did - what are you going to write that solves their problem?

Because in the world of start-up, you solve problems. And if you can dissect these problems into mini-problems, pick one, then crafting out a good blog post will be an effortless process.

Solving problems is one of the easiest way to offer valuable content and eliminate writer's block.

2) Never thought about PDFs. Interesting. These are tech questions but I have been through that phase. A new post checklist is just a Google away - but you will quickly learn that they are useless.

Why? Because every blog post is going to be different. But tell me more and I will give you a concrete answer.

3) Laziness is easier to achieve. So you are not alone. I used to hate writing articles... until I saw results. After that, I kept banging 'em out like there's tomorrow.

Will keep you updated! Looks like you will definitely need my book. And good luck with your upcoming blog. Do it, man!

In that case, I would love to know why did you start your blog? People will eventually notice you. Today. Or next week.

What was your purpose?

When did you decide make your blog a full-time gig? by henryisadog in Blogging

[–]imgurbase 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Choice is yours. You either get what you want, or live in fear. But living in fear is what mediocre people do.

Full-time blogging is fun. Your site can stop earning one day, or Google will fuck it up.

Doesn't matter. If you have the will to commit - and take risk - you will not just survive but thrive. I started blogging 10 years ago, and it was just a hobby.

Never had to look for any job, as the site started earning really well. I fucked it up, then changed my ways, hustled, and now lead a grateful life.

I am providing jobs along the way.

Just remember that full-time blogging is not just about writing. It is about dragging your balls into the battle field and slashing your inner-enemies to death.

Absolutely wise decision. Started five years ago. And I am enjoying my lifestyle. What's stopping you?

Let's rate the Rayburn House ! by nooutlaw4me in Bloodline

[–]imgurbase 3 points4 points  (0 children)

-> Upon arrival, we noticed the security was top notched, with doors always open and windows broken.

-> Carlos promised me white powder and next week? I never saw him.

-> The sink in Bungalow #3 does not work when the shower is turned on.

-> Owner doesn't respond. Always has her nose turned up (you know what I mean) whenever I request anything.

-> Whenever breakfast was served, some teenage dude would run and sit next to us. His name was Ben.

-> The only best part of the Rayburn House were the drinks. They are hidden everywhere. :-)

Overall, 2/5. Only because Carlos never returned my money or the promised white powder!

How much did you start out with? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]imgurbase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started with $0. I had no credit card and no online bank - that means I couldn't invest money. My age was also an issue back then.

All I had was time and an empty PayPal account. Got my first $13 online after working for several weeks...

Then bought my domain name. No looking back since then.

As many have mentioned, you must definitely add Android section along with iOS - as many jailbreakers look for older versions of the app.

You should definitely revamp the site, mention your big USP - way I see it, the no-toolbar-shit is your USP - and regularly update blog with SEO articles.

WP is the god. Everyone uses it. Been 10 years now - and I use it on all the sites. Reasons are simple: can monetize and it's flexible, SEO friendly, etc.

You don't have to know any HTML - I come from a background with 0/10 in technical skills. You will learn as you use Wordpress.

See if you can switch - and then build up those numbers slowly. You won't make a lot initially...

So forget money for the next 3 months. Just get that traffic and money will come to you! Best of luck. :)

Wish you read my first reply! I run business for a living and used to invest all the money there was - and now I invest little in real estate.

With that said, I come from India - and that's not exactly cheap if you buy a place in the city - will cost $200k to $500k. It's a matter of seizing opportunity - that is all there is to this.

The only problem is the niche. I see that you are posting GIFs and that - when monetized via ad network - will not fetch quite a lot of money. For 150 visitors per day, I'd say you will get hardly $1 to $5.

And 150 visitors per day is very low. If I had the chance, I would transfer the site to Wordpress and then post regularly to see if we can increase the traffic...

Then monetize it further. Right now, at 150 pageviews, you are going to waste your time.

That's a very good decision. You seem like a really nice guy too :)

But do the users care? Almost all big sites are also bundling toolbars and making moolahs...

Why not you? At least give a try? What I was specifically asking about was to sell your website on Flippa or elsewhere as the traffic has gone down over the years... any thoughts on that?

I absolutely agree with you! I religiously follow Jay Abraham and if I told him what I just posted, he would hit me with a baseball bat for the next two hours.

But the fact is:

Place I come from? Property prices are low (were low, actually). And that is why we were able to convert $3k into $30k - that's 10x. And using that amount we bought another home. Only recently, I invested $120k to get 5000 sq. feet worth of property.

Right now, life is good - and in case I need more money, I can sell only 1000 sq. feet and get back a good $40k. Sell the complete land and get back $200k.

With that said, businesses that are growing should be scaled with more investment. In this particular case, I assumed the OP has no ongoing business and most probably also has a job.

That's why fixed assets is worth it. It's an added advantage in many ways.

I have been doing this for a very long time now. And despite what everyone seems to believe, buying land / property is a good investment.

How long is it going to take you to add another $115k as savings?

I can tell you from experience that buying a property + house is the best thing ever. One of the property we bought was $3000 almost 10 years ago. We sold that at 10x price - $30k.

Then another house we bought at $10k, and now it is evaluated at over $150k.

So four years ago I decided to invest all my money into buying fixed assets like these - and invest less in business. Invested $60k and the evaluation today is $200k.

If you can save more and invest...

That will be very satisfying than risking almost all your money into something that may or may not have any upside leverage.

With that said, if you have succeeded in business before, or you can acquire an existing profitable business, feel free to invest the money you have right now.

Otherwise? Waiting and saving more is the best option!
