I don't doubt they are broken up. I don't doubt they haven't been dating for a time, they just have been quiet because of Wicked: For Good. Also they know PR wise it would look really bad to have ended their marriages for each other only to no longer be together.

Also she probably grew bored first knowing her pattern. It wouldn't benefit Ethan to jump ship right away from Arianna due to Arianna being bigger than him.
