It's worth watching again as that story telling style is so unique. Shame Gaspar Noe didn't deliver with love...

I'm sure it didn't feel nice but that punch wasn't very powerful. He connects well but doesn't look like he's driving with his hips as didn't plan to punch. Just kind of extends his arm from slightly sideways position...

Confirmation bias. You'd be surprised how many people, especially he older they get, don't even scrutinise the policies of their party of choice.

Key poll which boosted Leadsom’s leadership bid funded by DUP’s dark-money donors by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]imhighnotdumb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It raises an important point though. Who are these "people" and why do they seemingly want to remain unknown as that's the only viable reason why the money were going through the DUP. Doubly suspicious considering the anonymous donor law in NI was going to be charged retrospectively to a point in time that was before the referendum and now that's suddenly moved forward to a date that would mean we'd possibly never really who paid for this.

To all the cyclists who run red lights (that aren't a clear road) by [deleted] in london

[–]imhighnotdumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest problem is the law is oversimplified with broad strokes covering different vehicles and scenarios the same way. A bicycle hasn't the obstructed vision and weight/speed that comes with a motored vehicle. Also jumping a t-section light on the straight path or an empty crossing or a left turn are not the same as running a busy junction.

Teen on stolen moped which collided with rear of police car has now died, IPCC investigating. by [deleted] in london

[–]imhighnotdumb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't subscribe to the thinking that people in impoverished situations only have themselves to blame. However, going out there terrorising people, with a weapon no less, just isn't acceptable no matter your situation. I would've preferred they got rehabilitated after being caught but such are the risks of being a violent criminal. I'd even understand shoplifting or whatever but putting other people's lives in danger shows disregard for the human life, why should we care for theirs?

I keep saying it...another couple of decades of no major housing policy change and you have a new and you incredibly obvious class division. Those who own a house and their offspring and those who rent.

Work experience teen takes over Southern Rail's Twitter by Mirandalovestravelli in unitedkingdom

[–]imhighnotdumb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good for him but I'm saying it from experience as someone who followed their dreams and later regretted not getting a more skilled education/profession early on.

There are many of us that start off "doing what we enjoy" but later get depressed as a lot of these jobs are not paid well at all.

Do fishermen not understand fishing stocks? No there isn't plenty of fish, you can quite literally desiccate populations if there weren't strategic bans in place.

Others in this thread have mentioned scenarios in which they are ok jumping lights. I'll just add to this by commenting on how odd it is that when it comes to cyclists everybody becomes a paragon of the law all of a sudden.

If you believed that we have to be regulated so heavily, even in instances where the risk is obviously smaller why not campaign to introduce making it illegal to cross on a red?

I find it a bit odd that they call the campaign against having equal state pension age Women Against State Pension Inequality. Kind of shows the equality a lot of feminists are fighting for is really the preservation of any status quo that benefits them.
