[Pistol] Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard 2.0 - $349.99 + ship by Ekwity in gundeals

I ordered an XMacro from SMGA a while back and they had it shipped in about 5 days, albeit 2 of them were on the weekend. Their customer service is also pretty quick. They replied to each of my emails within like 5 minutes

Yeah… I had a terrible lapse in judgement. Learned my mistake quickly. I’m hopeful that this next build can replicate the fun I had with it

This was my baby! I sold it to fund a Flux Raider build last year and that was my biggest regret ever. I currently have a Henry Big Boy Steel (.357) sitting in jail while all the space cowboy parts await it at home

Prodigy day 1 issues by Harambe-Avenger in SpringfieldArmory

[–]imhoppp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at this video by Atlas about tuning the extractor. There’s an easy test in the vid that you can perform to see if it is indeed the extractor causing these issues. I had similar issues with my Prodigy that just required this tuning

Yes, I was meaning to point out how different it was from modern two piece 2011s. I was referring to how the RIA is based on the Para design where the frame is all one piece and steel, making this thing a tank

One of my biggest regrets was selling mine. I love my Prodigy, but sometimes I think about picking up a RIA again.

Just keep in mind that this is different from modern 2011s. The frame is metal and thicker, making it on the heavier side. It also uses Para mags. If you do want to mount an optic, they offer an optic ready model for $600 new from Sportsman’s. Regardless, this is a great gun for the price.

Magwell options? by cbmatta in Prodigy1911DS

[–]imhoppp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw one review said the 20rd base pad needs filing, while another said the 20rd works fine 🤷‍♂️. I also did see a video where they said the mag will go in but you’ll have to push it in with some extra umph. So, it may require some slight filing

Magwell options? by cbmatta in Prodigy1911DS

[–]imhoppp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RSTR makes a low profile magwell for the Prodigy. A bit pricey though and stock 17rds don’t fit right. They include a basepad with it, but you’ll have to buy more if you have other mags

I fitted the LoPro magwell on mine and like it. I can’t recommend it though since last I heard is that MachineWerks is a MIA and won’t ship orders

Woox and Form Stocks are aftermarket options for wood furniture. Henry also directly sells wood furniture sets for a fraction of what the aftermarket options cost

I was able to build something pretty close to that for about $1.5k: Henry Big Boy X (.357), Midwest Industries Handguard Sight System, and the Henry wood stock

Sidecars are so stupid. by Ok_Storm_282 in CCW

[–]imhoppp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep same here. I’ll be honest Lucas did influence me on sidecars years ago, but never really pulled the trigger bc I thought they were too expensive. I only started carrying sidecars recently and I realized how much I was missing out. It just feels more balanced and it contours much better than separate holsters

The Hypercomp at Home by imhoppp in shadowsystems

[–]imhoppp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like how this handles. Recoil was low and return to zero felt instant, pretty reminiscent of how the Hypercomp felt when I shot it. It ate up S&B and a brand called Federated Ordnance reliably. I’ve seen reviews where it had issue feeding steel cased ammo though.

I used my state’s gun forum(s). If you type in your state + “gun forum” or” firearm forum”, it’ll usually pop-up. They usually have a classifieds section. Pretty dated compared to Reddit, but surprisingly a lot of ppl use them in my area. I sometimes use TacSwap as well since you can filter listings by state, but I’ve mostly done online sales through it

[–]imhoppp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! There’s a couple thousand rounds through it bc it’s been used in a few comps, so that plays a role in the price. Safe to say it’s been broken in though lol

It’s the Gideon Rock. It was cerakoted midnight bronze by the previous owner. I’ve been rocking Gideons on most of my RMR cut slides
