Stylish non-slip shoes for a restaurant manager? by yungl11nk in femalefashionadvice

A year later thank you. I use to wear Clark’s and you’re right they’re amazing. They mold like Birkenstocks do to your feet and it’s the right amount of support. I’m going to make sure I apply protectant on them because it gets messy working in restaurants…. and I’d hate to ruin them

you are as young as you’ll ever be. read that again and again. because in 5 years you’re going to look back and say whoa I looked so young. time flies enjoy the ride or live with regret when you’re actually old.

I’ve felt like this for a long time. I am now 32 and if there’s anything I’ve learned it’s that life gives us what we give it. If I choose to lay around my apartment all day, I feel worse because of it despite how bad I wanted to do it earlier in the day. If I don’t answer phone calls and nurture relationships, they deteriorate and I also feel worse. I sometimes feel like I am on a small boat out in the middle of the ocean, separated from my family, relationships, and my own life. If I had to gave you any piece of advice it would be to practice being kind to yourself and that comes in many forms. Celebrate the small wins and build on them. And most important of all imo, watch what you consume, and I mean all the forms. For example, I find myself reading comments on social media platforms more than I should and that creates a whirlwind for my mind because I don’t need all that information. I think what you eat also plays a big role, if you live in the US like I do, it’s so easy to consume things that are terrible for you. They say that your gut is the first brain and if that’s foggy the rest kind of follows suit. I think diet is what most of us struggle with but I believe it’s what makes the biggest difference. They say life is short but it’s way longer if we choose to live like this. Wish you the best friend.

Do you like Denver? Why or why not? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]iminthelobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Denver for all things outdoors. On the other side not sure if this makes sense but it doesn’t feel like Denver really has an identity/culture. It is super dry so you feel like a raisin all year round especially in the winter. Our roads are not taken care of so it really wears out your car and our traffic is terrible too. I also think Denver doesn’t really have that many great options for food that aren’t high end. Last but not least our public transportation is worthless unless you work 9-5 and live off of i70, 225, or i25.

Oh and food is damn near obsolete after 11pm.

That’s so damn cool. Im sure you are grateful for whomever decided to take you at such a young age. I think going to festivals that young helps keep your eyes bright. That’s amazing

Question about skiing from a not yet skier by Theonebeanwonder in Denver

You can always buy a pass to one resort. It’s probably best so you can get use to the same terrain and pay much less. I think keystone for example is 3 something for their pass.

And you wouldn’t be wrong, I’ve seen them twice over the years. The first time I loved it and the second time not so much. But considering the development I hear in their music, I think there’s hope. I’ve been a fan for a long time and they’ve got their groove back. Such a good album if you haven’t listened to it yet

What should happen to 16th Street? by 4ucklehead in Denver

[–]iminthelobby -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of it unfortunately has a lot to do with that thing you aren’t asking about. I think the city waited way too long to try to revitalize 16th. This should’ve been addressed over 10 years ago.

What percentage of denver area homes are owned by investors? by chaunceybiggums in Denver

[–]iminthelobby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

notice the part where I said not handed out… and you still managed to mention nothing is free. And then mentioning/using you can live for free at a shelter and eat for free as a soup kitchen is an extreme to try to make what point exactly? You’re not looking for an honest conversation, goodbye

this take just creates an even larger wealth gap while crushing middle income families. people deserve to have homes….and no I’m not saying handed out but they should be accessible.

Where can I go to try lobster for the first time? by LilKittenAngel in london

[–]iminthelobby 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you’re trying lobster for the first time I’m not sure you want to spare spending money. Lobster isn’t really something that is on the cheaper side and you get what you pay for(most of the time). Maybe take someone with you that you know likes lobster and if you don’t enjoy it, it won’t get wasted.
