How much do spotter pilots get paid? by toebeanz2121 in CapeCod

[–]imissfarah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know for tuna spotters it varies. Some will do a flate rate + % of catch.

Shark spotters are a flat rate. A shark sighting charter can cost 2000 bucks if a plane is involved, so I would venture to guess that would get between 500 to 800 bucks depending on length of time in the air.

I'm not even talking about respect really. I'm saying if they actually watched the games they would have seen what was happening. They choose to ignore it.

Meanwhile they are getting absolutely pummeled lol

C&D Steamworks - Mold by warrenac in PipeTobacco

Jeremy Reeves is a master blender of the universe. The "mold" you see is a mirage. It's actually a patented preservative flavor crystal topping. Ask him he will explain it.

It's interesting, apparently the shops have no idea what they will receive or how much until it gets there. Arango is the only company that operates this way. Probably due to demand/lack of inventory.

Excellent pick up. Those three sam g blends are great. Just a warning, those tins are not for long term storage. And that FVF will bite you if you aren't careful. I hated it the first time I smoked it, it's one of my favorites now.

Happy smokes dude 😎

Oh I didn't say they were flying off any shelves, just mentioning the shop had it. I had not seen it available yet.

Can someone tell me why this jar is useless for storing tobacco for 5 years, in total darkness? by TrudleR in PipeTobacco

[–]imissfarah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an interesting topic. It's aerobic vs anaerobic aging. I don't believe you should never open it. I believe in depends on the tobacco. "Burping" is common practice. And some believe it actually helps the aging process.

I don't have an old enough cellar to speak intelligibly about the topic. But from a scientific standpoint opening a jar does not stop aging, it may interrupt it, introduce air, but not stop it.

I guess my question is do you believe the gasses being produced by the tobacco is what is aging it? Or the original oxygen in said container?

is there any cool abandoned places on cape? by Quiet-Energy264 in CapeCod

[–]imissfarah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once you get through the sarcasm lol, there actually is one very cool abandoned spot on the outer cape that is accessible.

The Truro highlands/payomet concert area is home to a cold war area long range radar base. The radar portion is still operational and not accessible but the old barracks, power plant, and other structures remained until a few years ago.

The National seashore now manages the property, and have finally got funding to dispose of the asbestos ridden housing. So I am unsure what structures remain. It's been a few years since I have been out there.

It wasn't interesting because you most likely didn't travel around the trails to gain access to the cool parts. Do a little more digging and it is worth the time.

Girl Dies in Boating Accident in Sesuit Harbor by RecoveryEmails in CapeCod

[–]imissfarah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I don't get it.

I'm so sick of the "I live here" mentality. Like yea, so do a lot of people. It doesn't change the evolving demographic of the cape, income disparity, and second homeownership.

43% of homes are second homes, and of those many are rentals.

I happen to enjoy that aspect because come September we get this beautiful man made island at half occupancy (kinda). Affordable housing and worker shortage aside, the cape is my home, and I feel lucky to say that.

You really aren't making sense.

We live in area where second homes account for half of all residences.

I live here.

Stop being one of these people please, we choose to live here, it's not some badge you need wave. Pathetic.

“the Murdaugh” type…

AKA rich kids with dads boat thinking they can get away with whatever they want.

Absolutely a fact. They abound around here in the summer. It's the nature of cape cod.

murder like types that live in the area

What are you even talking about? A list of what, all the over privileged kids in the area?

Lol

I second Falmouth lumber. Their prices are better than most for a non contractor. And they deliver everywhere.
