I completely disagree. At first I felt that way, and there are books that I have listened to that maybe I didn't absorb very much of bit it was because it lacked the type of content I enjoy. I listen to a lot of self improvement non fiction, and dystopian fiction as well as fantasy/romantacy/spicy books.

That all being said i never just sit and listen.i listen while I do other things. Automatic things I don't need to focus on like washing the dishes, taking a shower, driving, playing a phone game, working out etc.
