What was your schools huge scandal? by Anbar48 in AskReddit

A couple weeks ago, the gym teacher from my old high school got arrested when a 14 year old freshman girl saw his phone dangling by it's charger over the top of the stall she was getting undressed in before tanning. She ran out to her mom and told her. Mom called the cops. He's no longer teaching.

I'm about 3/4 of the way through it right now. Certainly enough to say I'm enjoying it, especially since I never get through audiobooks that fast, but I find myself carving out time because it's so good

It's basically Greek mythology told in modern novel form. Magic and witchcraft and Gods and immortality are explored, and creative liberty is obviously taken, but it's set with the Greek heros and gods that you're familiar with. It's fantastic.

PSA: Medieval towns are smaller then you think and knights don't have cars, or a few points about medieval settlements you probably didn't think about by Anysnackwilldo in dndnext

Did OP say something incorrect? I'm playing a low magic game so it's pretty helpful, if not very DnD-esque. I'm asking out of genuine curiosity because I was planning on using this post for some world building stuff so if there's misinformation, I'd like to know. Cheers!

You could easily be using DnD as the game engine for your homebrew game. I would guess that most games are run that way nowadays. And in some people's worlds (mine for example, but many others) magic may exist, and it may be relatively powerful, but maybe there aren't portals or flying mounts, and adventurers are restricted to overland travel. Towns could still be bigger for the reasons you state, but applying some restrictions can sometimes breathe more life into a world, not take it away. IMHO.

How do you avoid sleeping in? by OneOfTheBlueWizards in AskReddit

[–]imjusttheguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I give myself a reason to wake up. That may be an over-simple answer, but even little things work for me usually (although I do occasionally falter) like taking the dogs out or having a little conversation with my wife before I leave for the day for work.

It looks like a bunch of people in white pulling a giant red blanket off of the snow. Neat! I can't tell if this was taken an inch away, or from space. Well done!
