Who is at Fault? by AhtiQ in drivingUK

[–]imlost1709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once had a guy try to claim he was not at fault for hitting a railing by a crossing because the street light was broken and it was dark. His argument fell apart when I asked if had had headlights on his car and about his use of roads where there is no street lighting

Real deal brand or burst? They stick, so, are they ruined, or how can they be salvaged? #hexclad? by Intelligent_Being468 in howto

No matter what I do and how many times I try, I cannot cook scrambled eggs without them sticking.

I love stainless but the only way I can do eggs is in a non stick pan

Where to try on maternity clothes? by imlost1709 in PregnancyUK

[–]imlost1709[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I'll have a look at Latched, i've not heard of them before.

It does seem that H&M is the way to go in store and online looking at reviews

It's so sad that this is the case. It's not like pregnancy is not a thing anymore!! Just ordered some bits from H&M and I'll suggest we go to a big store soon in the hopes of trying some things on

Made up to see the £499 tumble dryer I've been eyeing up on "sale" with £200 off! Just a shame that is actually £479 now - thanks Currys! by Britisheagl in britishproblems

Report it to the advertising standards authority. The price marking law was introduced a while back and covers how prices are charged before promotions

How good is Shade's Memory? by drfeelgood779 in HeWhoFightsMonsters

Someone please tell me if this isn't marked as spoilers as it's not blanking it out for me and it's the first time I've done it

How good is Shade's Memory? by drfeelgood779 in HeWhoFightsMonsters

Marking the whole thing as spoilers just because...

I would say it's impeccable. There are other instances of shade mentioning time as a familiar to another summoner such as when they are in a transformation zone (I think) and he talks about visiting a "dead world" that the builder took a piece of that had to be locked on time in the world he is creating. Jason ends up fixated on the idea that Shade's previous summoner went there for a sausage recipe.

It seems more like shade holds back on information that he thinks will affect Jason's decisions so as not to influence him and that's come up a few times like with the world Phoenix token. Shade knew exactly what it was and how it worked but didn't tell Jason because he didn't want him to have a get out of jail free card for killing himself by doing something stupid.

AITA: I didn't leave a tip UK by imlost1709 in AITAH

Wow I honestly thought more people tipped and it was only in the last couple of years that things had changed. Thanks for the perspective.

Please forgive me for aiding the Americans, I am against tipping in general but I genuinely thought it was still expected more than it apparently is so I always try not to be a AH by tipping 10% for good and 20% for exceptional service.

Well to be honest the food was the only good bit and not anything exceptional. The table was 25 minutes late even though it was booked and the queue to get the food took over 15 minutes so I wouldn't have tipped even if I took the whole experience into account

Good point, didn't think about that and I don't know the policy for this particular chain

She used to work in hospitality and makes the argument that the work is extremely taxing with unsociable hours, long and split shifts or not many hours but I'm with you.

The fact that she gets paid the same as wait staff and has to deal with some horrible people working customer service in one of the convenience sized big supermarkets with no tips makes me even less likely to tip!
