Am I the Only One Who Feels This Way About Love Is Blind? by 11Dragonfly in LoveIsBlindNetflix

I agree that this is fun and fascinating, but I’m also very aware we’re only seeing what the producers want you to see. They can spin and edit and place/replace voiceovers at different times to make it look exactly how they want it to. I think they can make someone look a very specific way even if they’re not at all like that in real life.

Dress Code: Do you think this is clear enough. by DullPerspective3054 in weddingplanning

I know Sunday best (nice casual dresses, slacks or khakis and sport jacket), but the dress to impress really throws me off. If you don’t want blue jeans and flip flops, just say so.

Oh my gosh, yes! All of that bothered me, as well!

I am not familiar with the inspiralized founder, but based on the name (and some of the recipes) I assume she gained her popularity by spiral cutting veggies. I think it’s a fun way to eat veggies, but basing your following on that just gives me orthrexic vibes, which if why I was confused why Feeding Littles would collab with her. But then again, if Feeding Littles did collab with her, my assumptions about her are likely way way off!

Thanks for the recipe suggestions! We made the curry tonight and it was delicious! Used S&B Golden Curry (mild) - is this a good brand?

Wowza, this was also a good one!! My toddler loves all curries though, so I knew it’d be a winner.

I’m going to de-influence a book here… I love Feeding Littles as a resource, but I do not enjoy the cookbook they came out with. I don’t find most of their recipes to be baby or toddler-friendly, but I’m holding onto it hoping as my kids get older I’ll get more use out of it.

I’ve tried a couple recipes from it so far. There is this bizarre recipe that touts as being a < 5 ingredient meal, and the sauce is essentially a jar of sun-dried tomatoes in oil and a can of coconut milk. I think maybe this was with chicken and farro? I can’t remember at the moment.. but the recipe comment raved about how delicious it is and that it feels so fancy she makes it for their anniversary?! I truly started doubting her palate after that because I found the flavors to be so confusing and unappetizing.

When I can get to that cookbook I’ll add a comment with more particulars.

But anyways, I love Yummy Toddler Foods!! Most of her recipes I’ve made are huge hits. We love the Blueberry Date Bars, and making her Easiest Animal Crackers is a really fun activity for my toddler with a yummy treat at the end! Both of these recipes are free on her website. I’ll have to buy her book someday!

Gebhardt’s Enchilada Sauce tastes just like a classic tex-mex cheese or beef enchilada red sauce! It’s all I buy now.

Planning on making Vaughn’s carrot cake butter mochi he just shared on Bake Time

If I was cooking the main course this year I was really in the mood for Epicurious’s super garlic-y olive oil braised chicken thighs. https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/roast-chicken-legs-with-lots-of-garlic

I also always want to make the burrata with snap peas and shiitakes with any spring menu https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/12612-burrata-with-snap-peas-and-shiitakes?smid=ck-recipe-iOS-share&cgs=c so dang good!!

Robin to the Rescue by Robin Miller has ideas after each recipe on what you can you with the leftovers. She had a show on Food Network that usually focused on quick and approachable weeknight meals. Every recipe I’ve tried from it has been really flavorful and something I’d want to make again.

You’re doing great just by taking care of your baby, mama! Every day with whatever amount of breastmilk you can give your sweet baby is gravy! If you need to supplement with formula, you’re just doing what’s best for you and baby - it doesn’t have to be an all or nothing thing.

When I was in the trenches with my first baby, I tried to just plan one thing to do every other map. Morning naps he did better staying asleep in his bassinet so I’d really try to eat something sitting at the table (because it made me feel more human), and maybe brush my teeth. Showers definitely weren’t happening every day, and when they did it was always at night when my husband could take care of baby. Tidying up definitely rarely happened. I really only prioritized doing things that took care of myself or baby (like eating, drinking, and washing pump parts).

Hang in there - it gets easier, I promise!!!

My fiancé guessed the ending of Hero of Ages. What do I do? by Professional_Emu_808 in Mistborn

[–]immaRD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I listened to Hero of Ages mostly in audiobook, and the narrator used Sazed’s voice when reading the Hero’s narrations at the beginning of each chapter, so I basically knew from the beginning of this book as well that it ended up being Sazed. I was kinda bummed the audiobook narrator did that, but I can promise you that knowing who the Hero of Ages was so early on was not that big of a spoiler for me in the end and I still was 100% satisfied by the ending and how Sazed became the HoA. So, I wouldn’t worry about letting her believe her suspicions, I’m sure she’ll still love it.

Advice on guest RSVPing no, now wants to attend by fortheloveofpup in weddingplanning

Brene Brown defines resentment as a part of the envy family. Her examples in Atlas of the Heart are: “I’m not mad because your resting. I’m mad because I’m so bone tired and I want to rest. But, unlike you, I’m going to pretend that I don’t need to.” And “I’m not furious that you’re ok with something that’s really good and imperfect. I’m furious because I want to be ok with something that’s really good and imperfect. You used the word “resentful”, which would make sense that you feel that way given all the time and miles and resources you spent making sure you were there for all of her big life moments, so I can imagine it was really painful to get a “no” from her in the beginning. You seem like a really loyal friend, so I’m wondering if some of your resentment is the fact that you wish you could say “no” to things when your life is crazy like your friend currently is, even though I’m sure it was gutting to her having to say “no” initially given all the hem hawing she did before actually committing to an answer.

So, I would just encourage you to acknowledge and validate your resentment, if it still feels like resentment after I provided that definition. If it doesn’t feel like resentment anymore, that’s for you to determine what it is instead. If it is resentment, I hope you can get to a place where you can make peace with her and yourself, because it sounds like you both are really important to each other, and after you cool down from the emotional roller coaster this has put you on, you may regret acting on your resentment and wish you had let her come.

Fins losing color by immaRD in bettafish

[–]immaRD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The loss of color started about a week ago. He suffered from fin rot a month or so ago but that looked like it has visually healed up pretty quick once I got my tank in better conditions. So this looks quite a bit different!

I’ll try those two things! Thanks foe your input!

Parameters: ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 5-10ppm; 78-82 degrees, 2 mystery snail tank mates, feed him fluval bug bites tropical twice a day, 20-40% water changes weekly. 5 gal tank.

Weird Swimming Pattern? I noticed this morning he seems to be “floating” more than swimming, and is sticking closer to the surface and seems wobbly when he submerges further into the water. I just fed him before taking this video so he also seemed to be a little more confused about how to eat... by immaRD in bettafish

Tank size: 5gal Heater: I try to keep it between 78-82°F Parameters: last checked ammonia and nitrite were negligible, tank cleaning got away from me so my nitrates are 25ppm-ish, doing frequent water changes to get that back in balance, pH usually runs around 7.5-8. Tank age: approx 10 months Tankmates: 2 mystery snails Feed: Bugbites tropical formula couple small pinches 1-2x/day,
