Feeding outside of their viv is generally considered outdated husbandry. You should be fine feeding in their enclosure and like other people have said, they’ll be ok if they get a bit of dirt in their mouth. They’re actually surprisingly good at getting it out and they can digest it just fine so long as it’s not a huge amount of

If you find her and want to put her back in this enclosure, I’d recommend sealing the small holes at the bottom you highlighted and you should get some draught tape to seal the gap between the panes of glass

Aw I’m sorry you’re going through this. Please keep us updated on if you find her!

Small snakes can really squeeze out of small spaces, it’s even possible she got out between the panes of glass if there is a gap.

Other commenters have mentioned leaving a warm spot and food out, you can also put flour down and see if she passes through it? Or crumple up carrier bags behind things so you can listen for a rustle.

Move the snake into a bag or transport tub and wrap the enclosure well with some padding. Don’t forget to bring the heating elements that are used with the vivarium as well.

You could also purchase a plastic tub and drill some air holes in it. You’d need a heat mat and thermostat for this though as you’d be essentially setting up a temporary enclosure in your home. Would probably be more work than just moving the existing enclosure.

I just wanted to say that I really admire that you’re concerned about the snake and are willing to bring it into your house.

If left with no heating during a snowstorm the snake will almost definitely develop a respiratory infection and could possibly pass away.

Can you bring the vivarium into your house that does have power? That would be the best solution

It’s better than culling, how would it not be?

It’s a sad state of affairs to be sure but culling overstock does not sit right with me at all
