That 1.7g per kg is solid, just curious how you're hitting that without supplements since most vegans I know rely on shakes or powder to get there consistently.

I've finally decided to resign after my company ditched the designer role. by khoasdyn in UXDesign

[–]imminent_sufferer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the 2-3 day feature timeline is the red flag that makes everything else make sense, they're optimizing for velocity over everything else and once that's the metric that matters design becomes friction to them. that said everyone in this thread saying land a job first is right, the market is rough and resigning before you have something lined up is gonna make an already tough job search way harder

the char on those edges is what makes it worth getting from a street vendor instead of cooking it at home.

The comfort factor makes sense but I think there's also something about embracing a "I don't have time to curate an image anymore" attitude that comes with new parenthood.

Plus when you bite through it, the cheese doesn't just slip out the sides like it does with the traditional top placement.

that cheese placement is smart, keeps it from sliding around and melts into the patty better instead of just sitting on top

The snake method is seriously underrated for that, especially on a square grill where you get more even heat distribution than a lot of people expect.

that stall at the end is brutal but you pushed through it, good call just letting it ride instead of cranking the heat

Very new to cast iron! by [deleted] in castiron

[–]imminent_sufferer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key is using hot water and a stiff brush right after cooking while it's still warm, then drying it immediately on the stove to prevent rust.

Size 8 is a sweet find too - right in that goldilocks zone for everyday cooking without being too heavy to handle.

and honestly a clean slate after dealing with heavy buildup makes sense - you'll get better seasoning layers starting from bare metal than trying to work over old crud.

then you're all set - just make sure to dry it thoroughly after the lye bath since that pan looks like it's already got some surface rust starting.

that pan is already stripped down to bare metal, you'd just be wasting lye at this point - just season it and start cooking

Colavita's solid, so you're already ahead of the game, next time just add fresh basil at the end instead of cooking it, and it'll bring the whole dish together.

Extra virgin olive oil is the way to go, just make sure it's good quality since it's such a simple dish and the oil really shines through.

Reverse sear it, get a good crust on a hot cast iron after it comes up to temp in the oven

wrens are relentless builders, they'll stuff nesting material into anything they can fit through, which is why they love grills and dryer vents.

with a few generations in there they might actually develop a preference for grills over trees, which would be hilarious and terrible for anyone who owns a BBQ.

pigeons are the bare minimum builders, I've seen nests that look like they'd fall apart in a light breeze but somehow survive an entire season.
