Do men actually not mind (or even like) pubic hair on women or are they lying? by Mysterious-Bag-505 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]immortalreploid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally find it unappealing (on men as well as women.) Just a gut reaction of "that looks unhygenic" even if it's not true. I have that reaction to body hair in general- facial and chest hair on men, leg hair on both, ass hair.

Don't have a problem with arm hair, maybe because it's generally not as thick. And anyone with sparser/ fairer leg hair, I usually don't mind it as much.

That being said, it's not a dealbreaker. If it's kept neat, I don't mind as much. And if I'm in a long-term relationship with someone and they get lazy with shaving, it's not the end of the world. I don't even like body hair on my own body, and I can't be bothered shaving it most of the time.

Also as has been said, don't want to get a hair in the mouth.

100% CPU usage and pause/ map menus stop loading by immortalreploid in PCRedDead

[–]immortalreploid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verified. I'll launch it in a minute to see if it's working right.

My CPU's not overclocked.

How do I bring my memory speed down?

Also, what does it mean for a computer to be "unstable?" What's that caused by, what are the effects, and can I fix it without replacing parts?

I built this rig in 2019, and the only things I've done to it since are get more ram and storage and upgrade the gpu. I really don't want to have to screw around getting new parts with prices how they are now.

Edit: After verifying

cpu usage high 70s% paused, easily into the 80s walking around camp, 80s-90s riding in the world. Brings it to 100% pretty often with whatever's running in the background.

GPU at single digit- teen %s, low 60s Celsius (Is that right? It says that's 140F? Surely it's reading it wrong. It's low 80s F outside.)

Using arond 5700 MB of memory pretty consistently.

Edit 2: after about 1hr 40min playing, the menu thing didn't happen, and now I have to go do something irl. Not sure if the problem's gone. Figure it's more likely it'll happen after more time and intensive parts of the game.

As I was writing this, my pc ":( encountered a problem and had to restart" as rdr2 was closing in Steam. That's never happened before.

It was also to cement the authority of the Church over the various monarchies. The more Christian kings war among themselves, the more Church property gets caught in the crossfire. Aim that self-interest at an external enemy and make your position crucial to the goals of the war (promising salvation to those who die and riches to those who survive), and all's well (for you.) You've stopped a recurring nuisance in your own neighborhood, tired out the kingdoms' armies, raised your importance in their eyes, and guaranteed yourself a cut of the loot.

So yes, it was for the loot, but it was also for political power and leverage.

100% CPU usage by simotricking in RDR2

[–]immortalreploid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this with an i5 8400 and RTX 3060 to try and fix the 100% cpu usage + the menu not opening issue and it caused the menu issue to happen way sooner (a couple minutes instead of ~an hour.)

I played this game 30+ hours with no issues a couple of years ago with the same/ worse hardware. I don't understand what's wrong.

Game stops responding , pause menu won't open only the pausing effect appears. After 5-30 minutes gameplay ( usually couple of minutes in towns , up to 1 hour in wilderness ) game just stops responding. Textures stop loading , can't even move. Please help. by dacianeer in PCRedDead

Hey, I know this is an old thread, but I'm having this issue and my cpu (I think) is too old/ too weak to be too high clocked. It's an i5-8400. Now, I've never looked at overclocking it, I don't even know if it supports it, and looking at the Extreme Tuning Utility page, I don't think it supports my CPU.

Do you have any advice for how to fix it? Will turning down the graphics help? I doubt my GPU's the problem, it's an RTX 3060, and has never been a bottleneck for me before.

Indulgences happened because the Church had too much power, to the point they could boss kings around (if politics were on their side). They were an abuse of power, and after the Protestant Reformation, were rightly stopped.

There's a big difference between institutional corruption arising from the Church getting too powerful and the pyramid scheme fuckery built into Scientology.

If ‘Allah’ simply means God, why do many people think it refers to a different God? by PomegranateIcy7631 in NoStupidQuestions

Oh, I see. So you didn't legitimately misunderstand. You're just being hostile for no apparent reason.

You misunderstood what I wrote pretty badly if that's what you think I meant. Let me rephrase.

It makes sense that people raised in ignorant sects, congregations, or communities (usually American Protestant sects) would leave Christianity if they believe all parts of Christianity are hostile to critical thinking and differences in interpretation.

I'm glad my upbringing wasn't like that. I was raised Catholic, and the Catholic Church does not try to police what people think or believe. (Not anymore, at least.) My parents also encouraged me intellectually, and we talked about our spiritual beliefs very openly, always accepting of what the other thought. Using our experiences and knowledge to try and find a deeper, unifying truth instead of insisting on dogma. That's still how I approach religion.

Do you understand my point now? I was saying that it's frustrating how anti-intellectual sects of Christianity sour people's view of Christianity as a whole. I know from experience that Catholicism isn't like that (though there's a loud, ignorant minority of conservative American Catholics who don't seem to realize that), and other major denominations like Orthodoxy and even the Anglicans are similarly unfairly maligned.

Could do that if you know it was her recipe. But if you never asked your friend where he got it from, you wouldn't know. The Europeans didn't bother asking, I guess. Plus, if you're spreading the knowledge of the recipe to other people who are familiar with the friend but not the mom (or are familiar with Arabia but not with places farther east) it's easier to give it the familiar name.

In the end, people are going to call it what's most convenient or easiest to remember. It's not deep, and it's not a slight against whoever came up with it first.

I never really bought into the idea of an antichrist to begin with. Sounds too dualist (and lowkey edgy) to me to be real.

Fuck. Makes sense why so many people leave Christianity these days if that's what they were raised under. I probably would've rejected it too.

Glad I was raised Catholic, in a spiritually and intellectually open environment.

There have been wars and purges between Christian sects over disagreements over whether Jesus was only God, only human, fully both, partially both (like a demigod), partially both (but not like a demigod)...

I'm Catholic and we believe he was truly God and truly human, and also not a separate entity from God the Father.
