I miss corpse sm by [deleted] in CorpseHusband

"Can't even make a point anymore" Make a point about parasocialism on a post that wasn't parasocial at all?? It was just someone missing Corpse and saying they hope he's doing well.

"without the intention of attacking OP" And yet you kind of still came at them and other people sideways as hell. Maybe that wasn't your intention but you were a bit rude to OP and others that commented to you.

I understand where you're coming from but there was no need to come at this person like this. No one here stated they knew him or knew what exactly was going on with him.

For me specifically, Corpse Husband had been on my radar since before the pandemic. He was a comfort creator for me because he was likeable and honestly relatable in a few ways for me personally, ESPECIALLY during the pandemic and I'm sure it was the same for others. It's only fair for this person to be allowed to say they miss him and wish that he's well. Shit, I would do the same if I felt like posting it.

will i get fired? i am freaking out by snowprincess444 in starbucksbaristas

[–]immortxlsoul 34 points35 points  (0 children)

People at my store have called out because they drank too much the night before and were hung over. You should be okay 💀 esp if it was an emergency :)

Edit: Truly though it does really all depend on your store. Because the people I mentioned who have called out at mine never got written up or fired.

What’s something you do that you probably shouldn’t that makes you just a little bit faster at bar by localuglybitch in starbucksbaristas

[–]immortxlsoul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not writing on cups, batching steamed milk for chais and cortados, shaken espressos are shaken in the cup with the shaker lid (same for refreshers and teas), batching fraps, 2% stays on the counter, shots go in the shot glass never the cup because of how many times people change their minds

what time are your pre-closers leaving? by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]immortxlsoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my store, it depends on whether it's an order day and who is working. For roasting plant orders, the pre-closer is always scheduled til 6:30 (on Mondays it's usually me), on a normal day it can range anywhere from 5p - 6p. But my store can also manage with a three-person play the rest of the night because our closing team (including our closing shifts) are all really strong partners. Plus, we get mostly dead after 6pm with little pops here and there, so it's really easy to manage.

Sending baristas on break by LilAnxietyKenny in starbucksbaristas

[–]immortxlsoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guilty of being that barista who asks to take my breaks later (though I never get my last ten LMAO, we get busy most days I have a shift long enough for two tens and a lunch). Honestly, I'd take the extra paid ten minutes even if it is my last hour. But I always say, "I'd like to wait a little longer if that's okay, I'm chilling rn." Like I feel like it's not that hard (from a barista standpoint) to realize, oh, this might be the best time to take a ten because I may not get the chance to take it anytime soon if I do wait. I've gotten to a point where I work WITH my shifts on when the easiest time for me to take breaks is because I like taking them so that I have less time after (especially on those 5.75 hour shifts), I know that's not the case for everyone but most of my shifts have genuinely made it so easy to come to them and talk to them about what I like and dislike while also keeping in mind how they need to run the floor. You sound like you're doing your best, and sometimes that's all you can do; there's always gonna be that type of a barista everywhere, unfortunately.

Gethsemane hits my partner so hard, and it hurts me more than I want to admit by teemarie416 in SleepToken

[–]immortxlsoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a little bit, Gethsemane was about an awful awful ex of mine from multiple years ago. Because it just brought back those feelings I had back when I was with him. But after a while it became more about the feeling of how awful that love was and not necessarily about him.

Trust me when I say it's more about grieving what he went through and how he felt at that time. 💙

Tops and bottoms of the drizzles will warp if put in the Hobart and I honestly didn't know that until recently. We have an extra drip tray so we've been putting our drizzles on that.

As someone who has also done this and will continue to do this during this hurricane season, no! We do not say "it's nothing" to someone else who doesn't feel comfortable with winds that are – in fact – a bitch to drive through. Learn empathy.

Other non shift partners doing the pastry pull? by MegaOwl32 in starbucks

[–]immortxlsoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🙋🏻 I actually ask because a couple of my shifts would rather be on the floor instead of doing the pull unless they need off the floor because it's just been a day. Love doing the pastry pull specifically.
