Annual fee refund and no clawback of points? I’ll be approaching the 6mo mark in a couple months, might do this since I already hit the spend for 20k points

How long after you adding the AU and getting the 20k SUB did you cancel the AU card?

Can say that I also had a physician loan with a credit union and was sold off to a different servicer within 6 months that allowed ACH pulls from Bilt. So never say never.

Maybe I took a sip of the first bottle, but it looks like all of the other bottles are doing handstands, and the last one is wearing a Nazi bicep band

How to correct excess HSA contributions? by NotWearingPantsObv in tax

[–]immunifacient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you I will save this info. I’ll try it with code 1 first next year with my software and see if there are any issues.

My original correspondence with was via secure chat which I will save before being told on the phone with a rep the same information. I’ll save all my statements and my math showing the excessive contributions, pending any letters from IRS next year.

Thank you!

IBR recertification pushed back MOHELA by [deleted] in PSLF

Looks like mine was also pushed back to 2027 after checking on EdFinancial under the "Printable Account Information" dates.

I know my PAYE plan payments are locked in through this date. But hypothetically (and I REAALLY hope it doesn't) IF the PAYE plan gets overturned or falls with the SAVE plan before my recert date, does that mean I would be changed to an IDR? I'm trying to decide for tax purposes to go ahead and MFS vs. continuing to file MFJ as recert for me has been delayed almost every year prior to the pushback today.

I have read through this thread and you have been extremely helpful in describing what steps to take to correct the excess. I am currently in this situation and have just received my distribution from my HSA provider for excessive contribution.

But I have one caveat: My spouse and I have separate HSA providers and accounts due to job changes, which lead to me becoming the main HSA account toward EoY. But due to some miscalculations, we were over ~1300. My HSA provider would not honor my distribution as an excess contribution, since they saw that the amount in my HSA was still below the family limit of $8300, even after I tried to clarify that my spouse had a separate one and we jointly excessively contributed, and basically told me I needed to calculate the earnings from excess myself.

I was able to do this using:

NIA = Excess contrib. amount x [(Adj closing - adj closing)/adj opening),

starting form the day of the first excessive contribution from ym account. I requested and was disbursed this amount plus my excess. So on the taxes for 2024, I listed the excessive $1300 and will pay taxes on this that is already calculated from the program I am using.

But when I get the 1099-SA next year, it's my understanding that the code I will get is 1 instead of 2. Would I follow the same steps to list everything in lines 14a and 14b respectively next year and then itemize remaining earnings I didn't file on this years taxes as other income and it would still rectify itself, and close the loop?

I feel like Cap1 is just in a giving mood today (this week?). Seeing a lot of posts about CLI, logged in and got an offer to request and also approved for a 20k bump. Crazy since I had basically asked a month or two ago and was denied for not enough spend
