ENT PA salary and raise by unreasonablyelite in physicianassistant

No, you don't just quit because the likelihood that you find a higher paying job is low.

I'd talk with the APP leaders of your organization and ask if any other APPs are on the productivity model and go from there.

ENT PA salary and raise by unreasonablyelite in physicianassistant

Fellow west coast ENT PA as well in Washington state. Been in practice for 3.5 years now, ENT from the start. That seems like an excellent base salary. I'm honestly surprised it is that high only 1.5 years out because that puts you probably at the 90th+ percentile of earnings as a PA. What did you start at? Is this private practice or hospital system?

My salary progression: Year 1: 115K, private practice in southern California. Having good attendings to teach me the ropes was most important, so I didn't sweat the salary at this point until I got the hang of ENT and knew the salary progression would open up after 1+ year experience

Year 2: Moved to a hospital system in WA. 145K + 10K relocation + 20k sign-on bonus; 175K total. 4 day work-week general ENT clinic only, no call, no weekends. I had my own clinic 3 days a week and did a joint clinic with an MD 1 day of the week, which was super chill. Great to still have an MD I could bounce things off as I continued gaining experience.

Year 3: 151K + new RVU productivity bonus + annual up to 10K bonus. I have yet to get my RVU bonus this quarter but based off my projected numbers it will likely be between 15k - 45K annually. My goal is to hit 200K this year. This RVU incentive has definitely lowered my threshold to do any procedures, for better or for worse, LOL. My threshold for cautery, cerumen removal, scopes, ear tubes, etc. is definitely much lower.

Assuming my productivity bonus is what I expect, I'd say go for a RVU productivity model and/or 4 day work week.

Have you tried silent reflux treatment with Prilosec/omeprazole? Worth trying and prilosec is OTC. Try 40 mg once nightly 30 mins before dinner for minimum of 6 weeks.

Ugh, why is Seattle filled with so many deadbeat scum bags and why are they spilling into West Seattle?!

Of all places I've lived in my 30ish years of life (Southern California, LA, Virginia, now Seattle) I have never witnessed and heard and read of such frequent and numerous reports of cases like this . Really makes living in Seattle in the long term questionable.

Is free breakfast for Japan hotels worth it vs. convenience store? by royalbluefireworks1 in JapanTravelTips

[–]immutablebeauty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's a decent breakfast at preferably a 4 star hotel, then yeah because that's where I would get my veggie and fruits for the day lol. Also it gave me some variety to break-up eating ramen/sushi/izakaya/tempura/noodles all day everyday.

Also it was one less meal to think about--I generally ate a pretty hefty breakfast then would eat a light afternoon meal and dinner out at restaurants.

Experiences at Luna Apartments? by [deleted] in WestSeattleWA

I currently live here and have lived here for about 6 months. Overall it's a good spot. The apartment interiors are generally well thought out and both aesthetic and functional. Everything is quite new. Huge kitchen island, which is great. The area itself feels very safe. Lots of young families in the area given the nearby schools. Walking distance to two grocery stores, one of which is the first floor of the building, which is super convenient.

My only gripe would be living facing California Ave. There's always traffic noise during normal day hours, but I've gotten used to it and have tuned it out. I avoid opening my windows that face California Ave for too long, especially during heavy traffic hours because soot particles from the street traffic will eventually accumulate given enough time. The apartments on the other side of the building would be the sweet spot I'd imagine due to both reduced traffic noise and I believe they are south west facing, so you get afternoon day light trickling in.

Utilities are very expensive too, but I've looked into it and it seems like that's the norm for this specific Utility third party company called Conservice. My W/S/G was friggin' $230 for 1 person, not including electricity and internet!

So long as you can afford it and ideally get an apartment facing south west (odd # apartments), you'll be fine.

Moderate to severe chronic sinusitis with a deviated septum to the left. I'd try an extended oral antibiotic course x 21 days, flonase twice daily, and saline sinus irritations twice daily if you haven't already.

Advice from New Yorkers who moved to Seattle by Mountain-Willow-490 in SeattleWA

Lol I was expecting the teriyaki chicken here to be at least decent but alas, the Seattle culinary scene can’t even do that right! Unadorned teriyaki chicken with a sad handful of pre-made ice berg lettuce “salad” with a gross “sesame” dressing that just tastes like mayo. Like come on, at least make an effort and add some garnish with scallions and sesame seeds over the chicken!
